I would say not much to look at. He has 3 extra base hits, a .224 average, 6 B.B. and 18 S.O., and lastly he has 3 errors and a .900 fielding percentage. I would suggest about on par with his guard play.
Anybody and their mother can be an MLB prospect with how many players are in the minors. It's insane to me lolI haven't seen any mention on Connor's Baseball stats. Supposedly he is a MLB prospect with decision to make as to concentrate on Baseball or continue doing both Baseball and football in college.

He's playing 2 college sports at a low level. Many college athletes can do that, they just choose not to.The fact that the kid is playing two sports at a high college level is pretty special. Of course, so many on this board could have done the same if they hadn't been preparing for their coaching careers. Some of you guys are unbelievable.
I dont understand how anyone thought he was an mlb prospect. His swing is way too long for someone with no power, below average speed for an outfielder, and below average arm. Baseball future is as bright as his basketball.....
I never claimed he sucks. Re-read my post. He is not an mlb prospect. Long swings have power, his doesnt. Bat speed? Lol. Power? Lol. Cripes, everyone is a friggin prospect nowadays. Hey, im a prospect! I have a glove downstairs!Good lord some of you folks are amazing. Yes, after 50 at bats or whatever in college he sucks. He actually has a lot of natural tools, but the fact he's not playing baseball all the time is catching up to him. He has the frame and the natural power and bat speed that if he stayed full time on baseball, he would be a legitimate prospect.

If he is considering playing a pro-sport, he had better choose one or the other. If it is baseball, he needs to head South.
Basically. So yah, pretty much everybody and their mother.![]()
Fire him and get us someone better. His stats aren’t great by any means but damn, he’s only a freshman.
Fire them and bring us better fans.Wow ....Sometimes i'm embarrassed to lumped together with some of these so called Iowa fans.
National championship. Why? You do know that a number of Heller’s players are currently in the minor league system right?

Lots of dumb in this thread but I expect that from anyone named Randy. It looks like we are hearing a bunch of critique from people that haven’t even went to a Hawkeye Baseball game this year. I’m sure the computer nerds that probably never played sports know more then the actual MLB scouts and college coaches. I’m sure Heller - who might be the best coach in all of Hawkeye athletics - just plays him to appease McCaffrey.
The natural talent is there and it’s easy to see. What isn’t there is the repetition and experience that will come with time. First, he’s still a Freshman who is a year removed from playing competitively because of his redshirt last year. Second, he is Freshman playing 2 Division 1 sports who came into the midddle of the season without the luxury of the pre-season or even the beginning of the year practice and games. He walked straight from a long, grueling Division 1 basketball season straight into immediately playing. It’s realistic to think he might be worn down at this point of the year and realistic to think that he’s still getting acclimated to Division 1 baseball.
Offensively, it will come but you can see he has many tools. Defensively, he has struggled some in the OF. It’s possible 1B is his natural position and will eventually be there but in the games I’ve been to he hasn’t played 1B. Yeah he might not end up in the MLB but he will be drafted and will gave an opportunity to prove himself in the minors. Just because you morons can’t comprehend that isn’t something that just anyone can achieve, you don’t need to bring your ignorance to this board.

Thanks for the facts! I definitely was just assuming.Actually, if you don't mind, here are some facts related to your insane assertion:
About one in ten (10%) of NCAA baseball players are drafted by a Major League Baseball team. Approximately one in 200, about one-half of one percent of high school baseball players, will eventually be drafted by an MLB team.
And only about 5 of every 100 players (5%) who sign professional contracts ever make it to the major leagues for even one game. (See this link: http://www.hsbaseballweb.com/college_vs_pro.htm)
So yah, pretty much everybody and their mother.
BTW: Do you work for the White House? If not, you missed your calling.
+1,000. I was going to say the same thing. He will only get better as he gets more mature. The young man was one of the top baseball and basketball players in the state his senior year. I was a decent athlete but never came close to his numbers.
Wonder how many critics on this board actually played any college sports. It really is sad that know-it-all's and be-all's hide behind these boards making harsh comments about 19-20 year old young men. In addition, since he's the coaches son, he is held to a higher standard.
I credit him for trying both sports, remember he is a walk-on in baseball. I'm hopeful Connor proves the doubters wrong. The young man has the drive and determination to do just that.
