Did you like it?

I thought it was pretty solid, well acted, and it kept me fairly uncomfortable like Tusk. Some of scenes might be extra brutal is you have misophonia and other scenes are a bit gratuitous but I sort of expect that from a French director. 7/10

Agreed, very interesting & uncomfortable story up until the end.

I thought the end was just over the top stupid that detracted massively from the overall quality of the film.

I enjoyed the ending, bc the last 15 minutes basically turned into a Troma movie. Ridiculously over the top.
I'm half watching the Oscars, Conan seems to be killing it.

Anora, a complete unknown, conclave, dune 2, wicked. The best one was a complete unknown and it wasn’t close for me. I went ahead and bought it. Music is incredible, acting and singing is great, and the story is great.

Conclave would be my choice from that list. A Different Man got screwed by The Oscars, but did well with The Golden Globes. The foreign press got it right. Best movie I saw from last year, Conclave right behind.

That was my answer too. I looked at the list because I didn't know what was nominated. I had heard of 2 of the films.

I usually see most of them, but I just couldn't bring myself to see many this year. I've seen the Substance, A Complete Unknown, and Anora.

There were a few movies I liked this year, but overall it was not a great year for movies. Even the ones I kind of liked, I wouldn't watch again.

The only one I have even heard of is The Substance and that's only because I heard it had plenty of nudity and gore. Still will probably never watch it but it's the only one I am moderately interest in seeing.

The movie that won - Anora - I've never heard of it until last night. Per Wiki: "As of February 26, 2025, Anora had grossed $15.7 million in the United States and Canada..." Apparently very few people have actually seen it.
