With the schedule still not released, and the the season probable condensed for all the major conferences, how many Iowa games does anyone think will be televised live? With the BTN not willing to use their alternate channels for basketball, there's only so many channels that carry college basketball. Correct me if I'm wrong but you have BTN, CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, NBCS, CBSSN, maybe TNT, TruTV, & TBS. Of these channels how many actually carry Big Ten games? Just putting this out here, because this year could be very special and relying on watching internet games is not something I want to pay for. I already pay too much for cable and satellite services....

Big ten tv better televise EVERY GAME of every team is they reduce attendance!!!!! The a- holes have had 6 months to plan this out. If not then let local channels show every game!!!

All conference games in past years have been televised either on BTN, FS1, Fox, occasional game on CBS or the ESPN family of networks. I don't see why that would not apply this year. Those networks want content and college hoops will fill a void.

For non-conference games, it likely depends. Past years, some non-con games have been only on BTN Plus, or the MTE's at neutral sites had their own TV package. Gonzaga adn UNC will 100% be televised by someone. Iowa State I would imagine would also be televised. Other games, who knows.

All of the alternate BTN channels are definitely in the low def tier of my cable system, making them difficult to watch. If the BTN/Fox/ESPN networks can't accommodate all of the B1G games, then BTN+ should stream them for free.

I understand TV programing can change drastically in the next week and a half, but don't be surprised if Iowa's first 3 games and over half of their non-conference schedule are not on live TV. Listening to Dolphin and Bobby will be our only options & being in the Quad Cities I'm not counting on WOC 1420 to broadcast the games either.....

incompetence in B1G. They really have only 2 high revenue sports to manage. Just like JBo predicted.

There's not going to be any more pre-conference games is there?

With supposedly only 10 days before the start of the season, I'm beginning to believe this point of view. Not saying the season will not go on, but the secrecy of the scheduling and how late it is,
I'd be satisfied if they only played every Big Ten team twice starting in January, play everyone in the conference twice and let the chips fall as they may.
I'm really getting annoyed with the lack of keeping us fans abreast of news about this upcoming season. Any other year, it wouldn't matter, but this is not just another year, this is the last year Iowa may ever, in most of our lives legitimately compete for a national title. That matters!

We all want answers. I know I do. The most obvious reason is that they don't have definitive answers right now. I'm in agreement that more transparency would be better. But given that nothing is being announced, I hope it doesn't mean that they will have very few/zero non-conference games, but I would say with no news that it's a possibility. Big 10 obviously didn't feel comfortable playing football games against other conferences not following Big 10 protocol.

Will they be on the B1G channel on internet if you buy their subscription?

I don't know who your provider is, but I have DirecTV and all the BTN alternate channels are in HD. Anyway, you'd rather watch the Hawks on your computer or phone then watching them on your TV even thou it's broadcast in SD? Yes, HD is much better then SD, but it's not that unwatchable by any means....

They rather show reruns of old osu games and reruns of the b1g show 4x a day?

Wouldn't surprise me :(

I thought about this. Why not have time slots of 4pm 6pm 8pm as many days of the week as possible. Would be massive for ratings there’s nothing else to watch.

We have the preseason player of the year and are highly ranked. Every game will be televised. We may even not have any games on BTN+ because of those, lucky if you ask me.
Nebraska, Iowa State on the other hand.

Ah yes - the infamous BTN alternate channels. When I had DISH they had 4 of them. But if you research this, it is easy for a cable / satellite provider to create a "channel" but they were only created for football as bandwidth on Saturday afternoon's is readily available. But not primetime evenings. To my knowledge the alternate channels have never been used for anything other than football and at least a couple of years a go, the plan was they never would. Things can change however.

Just space them out over a week, two games every weeknight and three or four on Saturdays and Sundays. Major networks will opt for some and Big Ten Network can get the leftovers. Shouldn't be that tough.

Which games do you think won't be aired?

All the non-conference games excluding Gonzaga, N Carolina, and ISU (although ISU not yet on schedule).
