This is my stance. It's not like anything is going to change. I might as well get some entertainment about the issue, since I'm going to continually be blasted in the ass for the next four years, no matter who gets elected.
Do I detect a crack in your dike Nole?

I think you'd see global markets hit the toilet if Trump won the general election; the number of times he has taken viable enterprises into bankruptcy would freak most of the markets out that he'd allow a default on US T-notes.

If global markets hit the toilet that means the US will most likely be considered a safe haven allowing the US to extend out the debt to longer term notes taking some interest rate sensitivity out of play, that actually would be good news bc the only thing that I see which will cause the US to default on its debt obligations in the short term is a rapid rise in interest rates.

Man if the treasury can rollover and book its new debt for long term low rate PLUS we can get to a balanced budget then you give America a chance to thrive for decades to come.

The DOE is a complete money waster. Scores have not risen, although school shootings have. Without a doubt the DOE is the biggest waste we have. What have they accomplished? What have they improved? The schools are all state ran anyways.

The DOE has one purpose, and that is to bribe teachers. What happens is states and localities don't pay teachers enough, so the Feds come along and give grants to states for billions of dollars. These grants are then used to raise teacher salaries. Literally, they are bribes to the teachers and their union. Drop the DOE, and now states will have real problem making the teacher salaries.

Newly minted teachers in ankeny with a masters start out at 60 grand. My how times have changed.

I say end the education department and give that money back to the states.

If your school sucks get involved or move. Lol at those that think the Feds are the answer.

Exactly, but don't tell that to certain types on here. In some world personal responsibility and involvement does not exist.
