How Should Israel Respond vs Iran?

I see Iran's drone volley as more of a retaliation and a show for their citizens. If Iran wanted to do actual damage they would have launched a lot more drones to overwhelm defenses and worked on some other munitions.

Nope. But, keep in mind, Iran was responding to an Israeli attack.

...and Israel was responding to Oct 7 and all the attacks on Israel by Iran's proxies.

That's a good theory, and hopefully correct.

An alternative theory is that it was a test, and win-win for Iran. If the missile get through, that's a win. If the missiles fail, as they did, Iran gains knowledge for the next attack, without showing their complete hand.
