What happens there ? There will be fans/coaches/HWC athletes -- we will have silent auction items and live auction items.

Very laid back--good time. There is a dinner-- drink stations where you can buy a drink-- Coaches will mingle/talk and you will see a lot of unique items to bid on.

Women/Kids are welcome--- Please join us !! You can sign up as a single, double or any number if you cant fill a table.

If there is a calling for this, I am in. Making it happen. I would think if we can RALLY some funds for HWC on an insane level on a message board, we can rally some time and dinner money to spend with Hawkeye wrestling legends, club members and Other rabid Hawk fans.

I just visited with Tim Grissel-- he basically runs the banquet--does the heavy lifting (literally)

At any rate he has seen what has gone on here -- and has really appreciated the support of this forum. You may see me posting here all the time-- but our other board members are reading when they can.

At any rate-- Tim wanted to thank the HR report board in a small way and has offered a table of 10 at the banquet for $250 for someone from the message boards.( Regular Price is $650)

The meal alone costs us more then that-- his only requirement?

You show up with 10 people! Doesnt have to be 10 forum members-- but 10 people.

First one that says they want it gets it-- Thinking about going but didnt think you could swing $650? Get it now for $250.

Our small way of saying "thanks" plus we would like to meet you guys/gals.

I have invited area middle school coaches to bring a wrestler with them and have almost filled the second table already. I'm working on a third. This is one of the coolest things our Hawkeye Report friends have ever done for us.

The first Wrestling for Life table will be filled by girl wrestlers and parents, the second is filled by area middle school coaches and their athletes. We have invited a Central Iowa kids club to fill the third. I'll keep you posted.

This does more to help us achieve our mission than you can imagine. THANK YOU!

I am a longtime lurker on this board. Although a PSU grad/fan, I appreciate the great information and support that is shown for wrestling and the Iowa team. I have become adept at ignoring the junk here as well as the other boards. I am truly amazed at the depth of support from the real board members for not only the Iowa team but for the future of wrestling. This thread illustrates the way support for our sport should be done. I hope that the other teams and their supporters will follow this lead and provide a positive influence on wrestling at all levels. After all, you have to balance out the stupid stuff if you want to improve
