randy you are truly a man of the people.
Most probably already realize it, but we couldn't be luckier to have Randy Novak leading the charge right now. Tim Grissel, the previous HWC president, did a fantastic job working his butt off for many years, and it was time to pass the torch. Huge props to Tim for all of his efforts over the years!

Randy hasn't missed a beat, though, and has taken he bull by the horns with all of the recent changes taking place. Hawk fans should know that the HWC is in tremendously good hands. And as a result, Iowa wrestling is getting a big shot in the arm, because as most of you know, the HWC and the Hawks go hand in hand. The stronger the HWC, the more success for the Hawks. Like Tim, Randy puts a TON of work into the club. He's right on top of all of the changes currently underway, and the sky's the limit for the HWC. And it's a labor of love for these guys. Their only pay is the satisfaction of helping the HWC create World and Olympic medalists and, at the same time, helping the Hawks get back on top.

Hats off!

This right here. Both Tim and now Randy spend a lot of time (in addition to their real jobs) and energy to include missing family time to support the HWC. I think Randy had the foresight to tap into HR and solicit fan involvement which has paid some pretty big dividends. It doesn't take a detective <ahem> to figure out that it is now a battle of $$$ in college programs and raising that type of money isn't easy as it sounds.

I was about to buy 20, but then I remembered my passport expired in 2001, and it would probably take too long to get a new one. Oh well....With the world the way it is now, I am probably better staying home. My wife would probably want me to go to the Looovra and climb the Awful tower and stuff like that anyway.
I don't have a passport. When I win I'm going to take the highest bid on this forum and donate that back to the HWC. Win win.

Me, too. Precisely my plan! (Well, I happen to have a passport handy, but no way could I get the time off from work to go.) Great minds. . . .

Would be a blast to win and add another $5k or so to the HWC war chest. Would be especially f*** to watch the bidding, the gamesmanship between bidders, etc.

Yeah, but you are probably actually an Iowa fan ;) I already donated as much as my heart would allow.
I just used your post to keep Gilman's fund raiser toward the top. I was pretty sure you were not going to buy 20 $200 tickets if you only had a passport.

You get a discount if purchase 20 of them. Only 125/ticket at that bulk quantity.

<<Makes you wonder if any Iowa haters will hold their noses and buy a ticket. Really, the odds are pretty decent, it's not a huge expense, and if you do happen to win, it's the deal of a lifetime.>>

I will not mention the name..but a pretty prominent name that is a former wrestler that had a LOT of success at a major rival bought a ticket yest afternoon.
