Charlie is even wearing the correct colors.
Edit: I see someone else noticed this, too lol.

The truly unhappy on here never have the guts to address their issues directly with Barta or, heaven forbid, actually call McCaffery on his weekly call-in show to voice their displeasure. No, they just like to inflict it on the rest of us on this board who are already in the dumps about the loss. We get it....McCaffery sucks, the players suck, Iowa basketball sucks. If you truly feel that way, why torture yourselves by following this team? A lot of you say Iowa has sucked since before you were born. That's a lifetime of pain you've inflicted on yourselves. Must be masochists if you sincerely feel that way.
Great! Now you have a new team you can follow. Don’t let the door hit you on the ….. on your way out!Add another team to the ever growing list of teams to go to the sweet 16 since we were there. Not much more to say that hasn’t been said about our decades of futility. Here’s the list:

Half of those schools are better jobs than Iowa so not really the insult you're trying to convey.Yes. We are in the same powerhouse group of Minnesota, Northwestern, Nebraska and Rutgers of Big Ten teams that haven’t made the Sweet 16 in 23 years or more.
None of them are.Half of those schools are better jobs than Iowa so not really the insult you're trying to convey.
Oh, boy, Superfan here really came up with a zinger. LOL.Now list all the schools that haven’t reached the sweet sixteen in that time frame.

No one outside the state of Iowa has known Iowa basketball has existed for the past 23 years! We have been and remain completely irrelevant on the national stage.Annnndd you’ll never even know St Peters exists in 2 years… just like you didn’t know about them 7 days ago.
Shows how important this tournament really is… Winning it great, everyone else is forgotten.
I would agree with you if it weren't for a few individuals performers. No one outside the state of Iowa has known Iowa basketball has existed for the past 23 years! We have been and remain completely irrelevant on the national stage.
Which is all the more infuriating I think is the point. Same in football. How can Iowa put so many top level talented individual players on the court/field and not achieve anything of significance as a team? Boils down to coaching.I would agree with you if it weren't for a few individuals performers.
Of the Power 5 conferences (Big 10, SEC, ACC, Big 12, Pac 12) then add in the Big East (4 titles this century), there are a total of 76 teams. 63 of those teams (83%) have made the Sweet 16 in the 21st century. Iowa is one of the 13 who haven’t made it.Too much work but it would be interesting to know which other power conference treats have been to sweet 16 in that time span.
some analytics on sweet 16 and budget would also be interesting.
having been to Jersey City I think it’s amazing what Saint Peters did. To say they even have a campus is a huge stretch of the term and Kentucky’s coach made more money then they spend on their athletic department.
I’m with you, Outrage Roy. I miss Iowa basketball. My childhood of the 1980s and early 1990s seems like a distant memory.I love Iowa b-ball. I hate losing Iowa b-ball! I hate us fielding teams year after year that only has 3-4 Big Ten caliber players on the roster. Only one of our players would start for Richmond. I hate averaging 14 losses per year!
Why stop there? How about >50% (6/11) of the current AAC members and 40% of the MO Valley (50% if you count MO St, who was also last in the Sweet 16 in 1999 under coach you-know-who.Of the Power 5 conferences (Big 10, SEC, ACC, Big 12, Pac 12) then add in the Big East (4 titles this century), there are a total of 76 teams. 63 of those teams (83%) have made the Sweet 16 in the 21st century. Finally a positive and uplifting post from Mr. Fuchs.Add another team to the ever growing list of teams to go to the sweet 16 since we were there. Not much more to say that hasn’t been said about our decades of futility. Here’s the list:

Ouch. Nice work on the analysis.Of the Power 5 conferences (Big 10, SEC, ACC, Big 12, Pac 12) then add in the Big East (4 titles this century), there are a total of 76 teams. 63 of those teams (83%) have made the Sweet 16 in the 21st century. Iowa is one of the 13 who haven’t made it.
