4th round is probably best case scenario for a guy with his injury history. Congrats Erick!
Would loved to see what he could have done with 1 more year in Iowa CityA steal if he can stay healthy.
Weird comment...Interesting that an iowa TE coming off an ACL injury got drafted higher than healthy TE from ncaa champion Michigan
Holy shit..a rival fan with a reasonable post. Good points. That said, All came to Iowa for a reason...he knew TEs were valued. (yes, and his buddy Cade)Weird comment...
1) All spent most of his career at Michigan...basically spent a minute at Iowa
2) Barner was Michigan's #2 TE behind Loveland this year...Loveland is considered the #1 returning TE in all (no pun intended) of CFB
3) Barner was a transfer in this year and only spent one year at Michigan
With all that said...I am well aware of your development of TEs and know how great you guys are at it...not trying to say you aren't. But Harbaugh has developed a lot of TEs also (going to Stanford)...both teams are known for it. If you you want to claim TE U...well you kind of deserve it but your statement is not the argument of why.
Well there are two parts to this:Holy shit..a rival fan with a reasonable post. Good points. That said, All came to Iowa for a reason...he knew TEs were valued. (yes, and his buddy Cade)
Does Erick All really count toward our claim as TE U? He spent a lot more time in Ann Arbor
He does. Where a player spent their final year is the school that gets to count them.
Michigan got to claim Jake Rudock, for example. Jake spent hist first 4 years at Iowa and his final year at Michigan; he was then a 6th round draft pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.
4 Years At IOWA:
2011 (redshirted)
2012 (did not see any game action)
2013 (Started all 13 games; completed 204-346 pass attempts for 2,383 yds, 18 TDs, 13 INTs; rushed for 218 yds and 5 TDs on 67 attempts)
2014 (Started all 12 games he played in, missing one game due to injury; completed 213-345 attempts for 2,436 yds, 16 TDs, 5 INTs; rushed 67 times for 176 yds and 3 TDs)
1 Year At MICHIGAN:
2015 (passed for 3,017 yds, 20 TDs, 9 INTs; also rushed 58 times for 166 yds, 4 TDs)
Cool thing about All if you recall, when he was interviewed after being here awhile he stated he had learned so much regarding TE position since he came to Iowa.
Yes and he had a lot of great things to say about Brian Ferentz after he was drafted.Cool thing about All if you recall, when he was interviewed after being here awhile he stated he had learned so much regarding TE position since he came to Iowa.
I always have wondered which school a player will associate with the most as they grow older. I’d imagine Penix would obviously say U dub, but I am guessing Jake and Russell would say Iowa and NC State respectively. I guess in the end it doesn’t really matter….😎Russell Wilson is another one. 3+ years at NC State, then 1 year as Wisky, and NC State is essentially erased.
Just a note on Jake...I think he might actually say Michigan...he stayed a little bit involved after he went to the NFL and then came back for Med school...I always have wondered which school a player will associate with the most as they grow older. Thanks for that! 👍Just a note on Jake...I think he might actually say Michigan...he stayed a little bit involved after he went to the NFL and then came back for Med school...
You don't have to take my word for it...linked is an article he literally wrote himself in a Umich publication a little less than a year ago (p.s. Erick All spent so time in A2 prior to the draft)
