I hit the big 40 today.

How in the hell does one claim “ half” a title.....unless you are pissin’ and moaning about the one you let get away? It is baseball.....shit happens, but in the end you either win the game or lose it.

2 bad calls against the Royals to 1 bad call against the Cardinals.
You being a Red Sox fan should be calling him out for that "interference" called against the Red Sox in the 2013 world series.

? Please provide an interpreter.....

This thread started out about Lucas80 and the fact that no one actually read the thread and jumped to the conclusion that it was his 40th BD. WSChamp 85* and 2015 decided it was time to bash the Cardinals for some reason. He seems to struggle with facts, he's a lot like Trump in that regard.

Facts:

Cardinals - .522 winning %, 28 playoff appearances, 19 pennants, 11.5 WS Titles.

Royals - .482 winning%, 9 playoff appearances, 4 pennants, 1.5 WS Titles.

St. Louis has a couple of decent ones. Kansas City is by far a better DDD city, and Chicago dominates St. Louis when it comes to DDD locations.
It’s a fact.

Kramarczuk’s Sausage Company in Minneapolis was DDD restaurant #40 for me. It was outstanding. I had the combination platter which came with three pierogi, a cabbage roll, and a Ukrainian sausage.
God bless all those people who dared to make tasty food, and toiled away at family owned joints for years. God bless Guy for putting them on TV.
Dinner tonight will be at #41, the Surly Brewing Company.

Yeah, 40psi in the front and rear tires sounds about right.

I hit #42 tonight. The Blue Door Pub about 8 blocks north of the UM campus. Tasty burgers and Surly on tap. I had some island rub wings with just the right amount of cilantro on them.
If I get up at a decent hour I’m going to Al’s Diner tomorrow to make it #43.

If you weren’t such a pussy and would tell me where you’re sitting tomorrow I’d buy you a beer

I believe the show was at the original Blue Door on Selby in St Paul so you hit their newer location. I assume the burgers are identical but the st Paul location is still there and iconic

True. They now have four locations, but I had to get the kid back to the dorms for a ripping Dungeons & Dragons tournament tonight. We didn’t have time to go to St. Paul.

It’s called playing hard to get. You’ll see me there. I’ve been told I look like a young John Wayne, just not as tall, svelte, or handsome.

The New York Yankees have won 27 World Series
Titles and have more of their players in MLB Hall of
Fame than any other team.

Bottom Line: The legacy of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig,
Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey
Ford lives on.

#44 today. DeFalco’s in Scottsdale. A solid addition to the list. We should knock out two more this week.

Inca’s Peruvian Cuisine in Tucson was scratched off the list today. We got up early and drove down to Oracle State Park for four miles of hiking, and then drove into Tucson.
Pretty damn good. We had the Peruvian equivalent of party potatoes.
Looking to scratch off a Vietnamese place in Scottsdale from the list tomorrow.

#52 yesterday. The South Side Diner in Goshen, Indiana. Considering there is a long thread on Texas Roadhouse being dredged up I thought its worth mentioning that if you spend five minutes on the internet you can find good, quirky places to eat all over this country. This was a unique find about 20 miles south of the Indiana Toll Road. I had the liverwurst sandwich with bacon and grilled onions. I washed it down with a “Green River”, which is a lemon / lime drink from their soda fountain.

#53 today. Mo Mo Ghar in Columbus, Ohio. It’s a ten seat spot inside an international food market. Really, really cool. I think I heard a dozen languages being spoken in the store as people passed by.
The restaurant serves Nepalese food, and it was outstanding. This tiny woman was standing there cranking dumplings out by hand as we sat and watched.
Such a quintessentially American experience.

Almost to 69.
Inching my way closer. I’m at 62. The pandemic slowed me down.
I went to The Wienery in Minneapolis last Saturday. It is a dive, I’ll give it that. The guy that runs the place called every customer by name.
There are two rules at The Wienery:
1. Don’t touch Jeff’s ketchup bottle. Jeff sits in the same spot every day and orders the same thing.
2. Don’t talk to Jeff.

Posted by a guy who acts like he's 65. Congrats.

Bush was President when I was 40….George sr.
Hayden Fry was still contending for B10 Championships…..The Red Sox were wondering around MLB like the lost tribe of Moses….I was single…..I was BROKE, busted, disgusted and couldn’t be trusted…..However, Bill Clinton was on the horizon and better days lay ahead! Wow…your turning 40 makes me reminisce….

We talking waist size? Remember if you’re shopping Big and Tall section, you can always tell people it’s because you’re tall.

I’ve lost count.
Chef Alisah’s in Tucson tonight, it’s a Bosnian themed menu. Good Lord that was tasty. The sausages were great, the beef and bean soup was superb, the simple tomato salad with oil and vinegar dressing and a cheese crumble on top was solid, but it was the bread that put it over the top for me. It’s so rare to find good bread anymore.

I was trying to explain Jeff to a friend last week when I told him I was going to hit some new DDD spots this week. “Don’t touch Jeff’s ketchup bottle”!!!
