I love the disrespecting media

They want to generate controversy because controversy creates viewership through tension. People will tune in on both sides that otherwise wouldn't have any interest in Iowa.

Combine that with unchecked ego and you have ESPN. Don't forget the very real investment they have made and the need for roi

Yep. I've been telling that to the Cowturd haters all along. It is a total troll.

With Matt, I think it's personal......I don't think there was any actual football knowledge involved in that tweet.......

To play devil's advocate...

Let's say you're a Clemson fan. Being OBJECTIVE here...would you rather play Iowa or MSU? I've watched every Iowa game and 4-5 MSU games. If I'm Clemson fan, I'd rather play Iowa.

Matt Perrault and media should never be used in the same sentence.

He's an east coast radio hack WOB who couldn't cut it in Des Moines.

He shilled for Chreighton.

I had to go to his Twitter page to even find out who he was. He claims to have gone 'national' yet only has a meager 2,754 Twitter followers. So clearly I'm not the only one who didn't know who he was. He's clearly looking for any attention anyone will give him.

Does anyone even know who this Matt Perrault is? Not sure why his opinion matters.
Apparently "known for New England sports, Creighton basketball, and Bama football. He has more than 2700 followers on Twitter! He needs only 22,000 more followers to catch up with the Cedar Rapids Gazette's own Marc Morehouse. Way to go, Matt!

(I see you beat me to it, JerNHawk!)

One of two things will happen in the CCG. 1) We will earn the respect of the Media 2) We will be exposed as frauds. The time for talk is OVER !!!!!

I saw this and also thought it was great. The mind of a sportswriter is such a simple thing. What the hell is going on with these people. Michigan State lost to Nebraska not even that long ago. Now they're "scary"???? Ok....

In fairness, this guy isn't a sportswriter; he's a sportswriter want of be.

Art, that's "want of bees", to be exact. . . .

I love the lack of respect from the media. I don't think this year's Iowa football team would ever get the least bit complacent, but they'll be locked in this week in preparation and I expect them to give their best performance of the year on Saturday. Scheme-wise, I love the match-up. Sure, MSU will be very tough to beat, but we have a fighting chance. I'm hoping the media spend all week crowning MSU Big Ten champs in advance. More fuel for the fire. . . .

Not so fast my friend, it is "Want of Bs" from the days of the printing press in Hebburn, England. A place that was famous for running short on the letter B.

I've actually felt "the media" as a whole has been fine. It's specifically ESPN that seems to hate us.
Lupica put his job with ESPN in jeopardy by sticking up for Iowa on the Sports Reporters this morning. Bob Ryan will be getting a raise.

I just hope MSU players are listening and believing all this crap. I am Sure that Cowherd will say the FRAUD Iowa will be exposed by Northwestern....no, Nebraska...no, Michigan State.

Pressure is on MSU to avoidbgetting beaten by a Fraud.

I don't think the media will respect them until they at least get to the final game.
if they beat MSU, they will spin it as MSU not being as good (despite all of the slobbering they will do over them before hand). Iowa loses and it is "see, they finally play a good team and lose"

they lose in the first round of the playoff, and it will be spun as Iowa just not belonging with the "big boys"

Disagree. The media are building up MSU in a big way. They deserve a lot of props for pushing tOSU around in the Shoe and blowing out UM.

If we beat MSU, the media will have no choice but to concede that Iowa is for real. I agree with those who think MSU may be as tough an opponent as we could potentially see in the CFP.

As others have said, calling Matt Perrault the media is a huge stretch. This thread is more coverage than he has seen in years. He's known around Omaha for being a turd.
