I'm always optimistic for the NCAA tournament. I truly believe they will do fine the first weekend. Mainly because of the scouting. Fran's adjustment to the scouting in the Big Ten has been horrible.
I'm in there with you. Life is too short to let a game played by kids affect your mental attitude. Many things more important.
I do never miss watching a football or basketball game played by my two Alma Maters Iowa and Arkansas.
I just replied on a different thread about positive comments. This one is every bit as good. Keep up the good work. Tearing players/coaches down isn't helping at all.
There were a lot of good things that occurred last night. IU is really good and they have a lot of quality depth. If the Hawks play like the they for the last 10 mins of the game I am good and the results will take care of themselves.
Iowa could win a game in the B1G tournament, but I wouldn't bet on it. Don't see them winning a game in the NCAA tournament. It's not about being Pollyanna or Negative Nellie, it's about recognizing the fact Iowa is playing really bad basketball right now, and they have been playing poorly since the beginning of Feb. Teams will see on the tapes that Iowa only has 2 guys who can score, and they will design their defense to shut them down and make someone else beat them. Add in the fact that the team has no confidence right now, and they are choking down the stretch of games, and it's a recipe for a quick and early exit. While Iowa might win one more game this year, if the over/under for wins was 0.5, I'd bet the under.
I hear what you are saying! As everyone knows, it is just so disheartening that they were on top of the world just a month ago and something happens that sends them spiraling out of control. Still, a good season!
If they lose the rest of the season, or only win one more game I don't consider it a good season. I would have a few games ago, but this meltdown (if it continues) is so massive that it goes from being a good season to potentially the most disappointing seasons in the last 30 years.
Well soybean, its perfectly fine to hold on to hope, you love the hawks and want to see them win, but the harsh reality is this team has shown for years now that they are awful and predictable late in close games, No killer instict in the teams DNA. This iowa team has become really easy to gameplan for. It was fun while it lasted, kind of similar to football season I guess.
They cannot shoot 2-12 or whatever it was down the stretch and plan on winning. If they can turn their shooting around and continue to get help from the bench, who knows.
You are right. 2-12 won't work but for the most part they were good shots. Too many games lately we have taken bad shots that not only didn' go in they led to transition he over way.
