Grothus is 6'6" or whatever, being forced to cut to 141 and you guys expect muscle development ?

That's funny.

Night in with the old man for the dual his second time seeing Cooper and he's still not a fan even though I tried to explain the growth since the beginning of the season. Quick question are you guys pulling the plug on paddock this season?

IMO Rhodes go s harder

Probably a stupid question but gimme a break I played hoops. Could Burak have gotten back points there without the takedown?

No, you have to have control (a takedown) to score backpoints. But you can pin from a neutral or defensive position.

Burak should have won the match. Besides that,he took two shots and score on both(or should have). That's definitely a match he needs to win. He needs to beat him at big tens. If he beats him there that is the difference between the 3 seed and the 5 seed at ncaas.

Gibbons on the broadcast seemed to think it was a takedown for Burak but he wasn't super emphatic about it. He said the question was whether the clock had expired or not by the time he established control. The refs reviewed it for a really long time before deciding to just stick with the call on the mat.

Grothus was really close to a first period takedown but it turned into a scramble and Thorn came out of it with the takedown instead. Grothus had some more chances later in the match but just couldn't quite get it done. He was really close. Of course, there were potential back points for Thorn early in the meet but JRob decided not to review because he didn't want to give Brody a chance to catch his breath. They never showed a replay so I have no idea if there really should have been points awarded or not.

As Gibbons would say Thorn "brought his hips to the party" in that split instance when Brody was trying for a big move (which he is prone to do). I think perhaps a little more conventional approach there and he's able to secure a takedown and go from there. But, that's not who he is, and it cost him in this instance. Brody wrestled a good kid tough, good effort out of him I thought.

No more breaks for Grothus. Keep him in the lineup and get him sharpened up.
