Would you want him to be considered when KF retires? I personally would but only if he is no longer a fat slob. I not sure if Brian is just going to be given the job but I hope there are several good people considered.

Can we get that dude from the Browns to coach OL?

No, I thought the Arkansas job would show just what it did.. And that is the fact he really was not that great of a coach. I know many on here think the Iowa head coach job is comparable to Ohio State or Alabama but the truth of the matter is Iowa and Arkansas are much more comparable. Arkansas has a loyal fan base with similar athletic revenue. The state does not produce a ton of D1 talent but they are the only Power5 school in the state with proximity to states that do turn out a ton of talent. Sure, it's going to be tough to compete with Alabama or maybe even Georgia and LSU but he was barely able to compete with Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Mizzou, South Carolina, Miss State, or some down Florida teams. I'm not sure why fans think he could fail at Arkansas and succeed at Iowa.

I would definitely want him as head coach with one major stipulation: that Barry Alvarez come along as athletic director, sort of a package deal. and I do not think this comment needs any explanation to anybody on this board, quite frankly.

Bielema's character is the issue. Pass.

I have actually heard some Kansas St fan/alums/donors are actually in favor of bringing him back when Bill Snyder finally retires.

Absolutely not,... would never want Bielema considered for any coaching position at Iowa,... and in my opinion, losing 150 lbs would only qualify him to be labeled as fat....

Brett Bielema will never be a coach again at Iowa. However, I could see him being considered for the K-State job should Bill Snyder ever die and they not promote Bill's son.
That is the only reason Bill is still coaching because they failed miserably when replacing him before and he then wanted his son to get the job and was told no so he came back.

Alvarez would be far more likely to take the Iowa AD job than to take it in tandem with Bielema as HC. Both are impossibilities, though.

Bret Bielema, HC
Mark Mangino, OC
Tracey Claeys, DC

The clogged artery coalition. Brian hasn't missed many meals either.

I think you need to get your eyes checked...Brian is probably in the 230 to 250 range...big difference

I don't know, looks to me like the bump in salary expanded more than the bank account, Don't get me wrong, he can't hang with Bielema down at the Cheesecake Factory, but he is at least a couple slices of German chocolate cake over 250. I don't blame him either, reviewing game film of the Iowa offense lately would drive anyone to eat more. Its stressful, I've done it myself. At least he headed to the refrigerator instead of the liquor cabinet. Besides, unlike the other rain barrels, I'm pretty sure BF works out. Mrs; Ferentz reportedly installed a heavy bag in the basement as a healthy alternative to punching walls.:D

Just poking a little fun. I met Brian a couple of years ago (great guy) and I do believe he is the right guy to lead the offense right now..... some growing pains (no pun intended) for sure but I'm confident he will get it going in the right direction.

We should hire the "bald-headed staring beardface" gorilla that is currently coaching the Lions. I'm sure he'll be looking for a job soon........

I have never understood the fascination of Bielema as a head coach here.

It will never, ever happen.

Kirk to athletic director, Brian head coach KOK back to OC. The money and 7-5 seasons just keep rolling right along without a hitch.
