a 10-game losing streak is not totally out of the question, before Washington comes to Carver on 2/22.

@ USC, L
@ UCLA, L
vs MINN, L

vs PSU
@ OSU
vs Purdue
vs Wisky
@ Rutgers
@ Maryland
vs Oregon
---------
vs Washington

Look at those next 7 contests and tell me there's a great opportunity for a win there somewhere. I would love to hear the attempted/imagined rationale. Considering the lackluster showings & results of the past 3 games, I will be shocked if Iowa wins tomorrow night.

Tomorrow night could very well be the difference between any combination of 1-9/2-8/3-7 and 0-10 from January 14 to 3p on February 22.

Even if they went 4-6 in the just defined 10-game stretch, it will still be utterly unacceptable.

At least 5-6 losses … we are terrible on the road … especially against more athletic teams… We can shoot lights out at Carver then we lay a turd on the road and our lack of athletic ability gets exposed … Thankfully this train wreck will come to an end at the end of the season….

You think we would have landed a top 40 recruit, who decommitted from his first spot because of the unexpected passing of the HC, if he thought that Fran was going to be gone next year?

Possibly the signing is related to the Revenue Sharing in NIL that is supposed to be available for 2025-2026 season and the
school/coach is becoming less important.

Players that sign these days are only really signing for 1 season because they can portal out.

Anyway, this team is trending down but I bet there are some lineups that would get a better results on defense/rebounding and Fran might stumble upon a better lineup. I say stumble, because he doesn't seem to be able to figure out he needs to be able to rebound to get defensive stops. We could end up with a really bad season, but usually fran system is good for around 0.500 Ball in conference.

I don’t agree. Fran isn’t going to leave…..his recruiting would indicate that. And….his recruiting class just bought him another 2 years regardless of record. The team could lose out the rest of this season and he wouldn’t be fired. Fran isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

But if they DO beat PSU, the losing streak would only be six. So yes, this is a MUST win. ;)

Well, won't be 0-10 at least.

But 1-9 is the next worst thing.

Just looked at the schedule... MAYBE 3 wins left on that schedule. Although I have a hard time seeing even 3 wins.... Because 2 of those would have to be on the road. But we probably catch fire from ours for a game or too.

@OSU .... W?
Purdue L
Wisconsin L
@ Rutgers L
@ Maryland L
Oregon L
Washington W?
@ Illinois L
@ Northwestern W?
Michigan St. L
@ Nebraska L

Is that enough to make the Big Ten Tournament?

Any remaining game, aside from Washington, that ends in a Hawk victory should be cherished heartily.

I don't see any game there, except vs the Huskies, that I think the current version of Iowa has a great shot at being truly competitive let alone a good chance to win.

Lots of losses in Fran’s final few games at Iowa.

In today’s ever-changing roster moves … commitment to a program doesn’t mean as much as a player can easily move to the next team… Fran will be gone …
