was consistent from week to week, they'd have flagged Wadley's TD, put the ball on the 20, we take 3 knees and kick the game winner. Naw, it was a BS call last week anyway. Damn this was hard to take. Great game and effort by all the Hawks. Looking forward to Mich State.

I just wanted the game clock to run twice during the last drive. Play clock was at 38 and 37 before the game clock moved. There's the 5 seconds. Ugh...

How about Barkley going down on one knee early during that 44 yard run? I slow motioned that run and very clearly his knee hit the turf causing those black pellets to scatter from where his knee hit. Instead of a 44 yard run, it should have been about a 10 yard run and that might have changed things on that drive. I don't just blame the refs on that. I blame the Iowa coaches and the players on the field for just ignoring it or not catching it.

the official on that side of the field had $$ on game. terrible spots, zero holding calls, some blatant in front of him, no PI. f that guy

The worst no-call was the blocked fg. They clearly jumped the center which is a penalty.

You can leap over him, just can use the center for leverage

I think they changed the rule that you can't even touch him.

Not saying he did or didn't. The block came from the end anyway, not the up the middle.

PSU 8 penalties for 90 yards

Iowa 3 penalties for 25 yards

Why do you think I come here? How in the hell can I get this kind of entertainment anywhere else? There is not better place on the planet for entertainment than this place.

This I'm really surprised this is a bigger deal on social media that was a huge miss

Y'all need to just drop drinking the "officials screwed us bevause they hate Iowa" koolaid and just realize that sometimes the better team wins.

At no point should we have even been within a touchdown of Penn State because they were much, much better than us. Give kudos where they are do and for the love of everything holy stop blaming the refs for once. Good game PSU! We'll get a chance for redemption sometime!

There was an obvious hold on psu scoring drive near the end of the game that wasn’t ahem called.

#1 no, they're not much, much better than us.
#2 yes, the refs made a lot of bad calls that favored the bad guys. Could have been a different outcome. Oh well.

Wasn't a flag by rule. He was avoiding being tripped.

That's a good point. We're also seeing a wide range of "interpretations" on pass interference this year.

Leverage and Leaping
ARTICLE 11. a. No defensive player, in an attempt to gain an advantage, may step, jump or stand on an opponent.
b. It is a foul if a defensive player who runs forward from beyond the neutral zone leaps or hurdles in an obvious attempt to block a field goal or try. It is not a foul if the player was aligned in a stationary position within one yard of the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped.
c. It is a foul if a defensive player who is inside the tackle box tries to block a punt by leaving his feet in an attempt to leap directly over an opponent.
1. It is not a foul if the player tries to block the punt by jumping straight up without attempting to leap over the opponent.
2. It is not a foul if a player attempts to leap through or over the gap between players.
d. No defensive player, in an attempt to block, bat or catch a kick, may:
1. Step, jump or stand on a teammate. 2. Place a hand(s) on a teammate to get leverage for additional height.
3. Be picked up by a teammate, or be elevated, propelled or pushed

It was not a penalty because he leaped trough the center guard gap.

Contact Against the Snapper ARTICLE 14. When a team is in scrimmage kick formation, a defensive player may not initiate contact with the snapper until one second has elapsed after the snap.

Unless you blow up the center they are not going to call that penalty.

The ball is on he 20 then 3 knees later it at the 26-27 yard line. A 43-44 yard field goal is no gimme.

the only time I've ever seen that called in any game is against Iowa. Didn't even know that was a penalty. I doubt we'll ever see it called again, until were the unfortunate beneficiary.

I just laugh that the PSU crowd is complaining about the interception review that was called off. Ball clearly hit the ground then complaining about AJ's fumble on McSorley. The ball was loose before arm was going forward. The other calls are a wash to me. Refs did not decide this game.

I agree regardless of the point I brought up. Couldn't be prouder of the boys & the fact that they moved the ball at will in their final drive must be highly motivating....now we have to figure out how to move the ball in the first drive!

Because your team sucks, you aren't really much of a football fan, and you're also a horrible person. Sound about right?

Read my post, I also said naw, you can't do that. You score when you can. More of a slap at the refs from LAST week's game.

I hope you find it equally entertaining when we piss pound your team. Just another stepping stone on our path back to the BTCG.

With the Mcsorley fumble I thought it was the right call. I thought I saw the ball being hit by the defender as his arm was going back. On the interception I thought that he caught it. And I certainly don't think there was indisputable evidence from the replay to overturn the call on the field. But then again I'd been drinking since about noon .

Originally I thought it was an incomplete pass. After seeing the replay, it was very obviously a fumble.

The interception was finally ruled correctly as well. I don't know if there was enough to overturn the call but the replay did show the ball hit his hands and the ground at the same time.

The numbers could be because they committed more penalties than Iowa. I think they missed a couple of holds on both teams, but the Barkley knee down and the PI no call were really big misses. I think, for the most part, Iowa played a clean game. Sometimes it not the number, but the affect.

Wow I thought our board had a lot of whiners. You are just flat out making up your own rules and then complaining that the refs didn't call them. Look at the number of penalties in the game. You didn't get screwed by the refs. PSU double your total yards. That wasn't because of the officials.

A bunch of those penalties were because of your douche QB and suspect OL made mistakes. Penalty discrepancy is a meaningless stat.

the nose of the ball clearly hit the ground on the last replay.

hey stupid there is not a whole lot of whining going on , a little but not a lot.

I thought that besides one or two calls, the officials did a good job of not making themselves a deciding factor in the game. In the end, PSU made one more play than the Hawks did.
