The one thing he said he would do in the campaign that I supported and he didn’t bother to issue an executive order on it.
I generally prefer it is lighter later so would say let’s keep the time as it is starting today and never switch back.

The only downside is many of us interact with people all over the world. It is far easier to keep it on the hours globally - when dealing with India which is a 30 minute offset time zone it is always a pain in the ass to remember the difference. Then again if he is successful at fully isolating the US maybe it won’t matter as much.My preferred solution is to fall back 1/2 hour next fall and leave it there forever.
This is like switching times zones by 1 hour.
It also means it'll stay dark till 8:30/9AM in the winter hours when we only get around 8 hrs of daylight.
9AM-5PM
Get rid of DST entirely, and when we have 16 hrs of daylight in June, the sun starts coming up at 4 AM to 8 PM; DST switches that to 5AM-9PM
Not sure why going to bed 1 hr earlier is such a chore for some people. Wake up a half hr earlier on the Saturday we switch; easy peasy.

You must be in the far west of your time zone for it to be dark at 9am. I suppose part of my rational is because I am in Chicago which is on the eastern side of central time. The sun would come up at 8ish on the first day of winter here which is fine by me. I hate that it gets dark at 4 around Xmas. This is like switching times zones by 1 hour.
