He could bring his entire staff with him and players Stirtz, Banks, Howard, Manyawu, and Combs. We would be instantly competitive with his culture and coaching. Then if he talks a few into staying if he wants them and land a portal player that fits the culture and we would be better than this year right away.

really not trying to be smart alec but it’s known that drake isn’t powered a hidden brad stevens type right?
One of the 1st times I watched Drake early this year I noticed 3 separate players blocking out by driving their man out of bounds under the hoop with their hind end on one possession. I instantly knew they were well coached and have never seen a Fran coached team do this.

If they hold on to beat Missouri tonight you can forget about Iowa being able to come up with the money needed to hire him. There will be teams with some deep NIL pockets coming after him.
If that’s the case it is what it is. You find the best coach you can afford.

If Drake makes the Sweet 16 (which I'm pretty sure they will), the hand-wringing around here for another week is going to be priceless.
Iowa won't get BM. He isn't #1 candidate, that's to come.
I now believe Goetz's strategy is to wait until a team wins the tournament, and that is the coach that she will select.
With every game he wins in the tourney his value increases and our chances decrease I imagine. We've known he was a good coach all season at Drake. We don't want every AD in the country to know that. A Sweet 16 spot may not be great for us.
Why in the world would he "settle" for Iowa with his stock so high right now?
How is he not #1 at this point? No veteran established great coach will consider this job. BM has been a winner everywhere and may be a great one. Any inside info on whom it may be?
While I understand your point, I disagree. He’s an Iowa boy and I think he’s not one bit afraid of challenges! In fact, I think it motivates him and that’s what makes him the leader and coach he is! I’m impressed and if he’s our coach next year it would be great, but if he’s at Drake or wherever else next year I will be a fan. Unless he’s playing us and then I will pray his team shoots poorly from the line like tonight so we can steal the game from him! Regardless, I hope nothing but the best for BM! I hope so. He's looking like a far better choice than DD was. Mizzou and their coffers should have no business losing to a mid major team with a first year coach and only one returning player. You can't fake that. BM must be the real deal. I really hope he wants to stay in Iowa after this.

Who? Iowa has more money to spend on a coach than anyone else with a vacancy. By far. NIL is a different issue, but we can absolutely beat any money out there to pay him. No question. And he’s proven he doesn’t need NIL to win.

He's been my first choice for a while.
I think he can be the moneyball coach/gm/player personnel manager/finance guy who will squeeze every bit of value out of every dollar they'll have.
But, if he's not interested there are still other good options out there.
