All this doom and gloom... people talking about a #8 seed #9 seed bull....

There isn’t a pollster in the entire country that doesn’t have Iowa locked in to a #6 seed or higher.

Some of you people amaze me ...

Win Saturday and possibly pull off a win or two in the BTT and you probably are looking at a #5 seed.

No chance we win Saturday p*nisman.

Zero chance actually.

Ok, Champ! Saturday would be a bonus game!?!?

I see us losing at IL and winning 1 in the BTT for a 7 line in the Big Dance. Probably 1 in the Dance. Not a bad season all things considered.

Next season will be special.

Nonsense. We’re a particularly difficult matchup for Illinois. They have zero answer for Garza and almost no chance to concentrate on Luka and still neutralize our shooters. I see us winning there probably by 8-15 points like Maryland did.

Next season special ?

If Nunge is healthy trade off for Kreiner
Nothing gained

Bohannan Back ..? Nothing gained and more lost ... our backcourt was so much better this year without Bohannan ... there isn’t chance it improves...

Anything else ?

Don’t get me wrong I’m confident we will be a very good team and possibly better than this year but a special year? It could be but it’s not like we will be blowing out everyone

I really don’t know what to expect from Nunge, but he showed plenty of flashes of potential as a freshman.

I somewhat agree that having Bohannon back won’t help as much as some people think. Yes he is a tremendous help to our offense as he may be the best shooter in the country, but this team can score fine without him and he is never going to be even an average defender.

But I also think Toussaint can make big improvements, as can Wieskamp, Fredrick, and who’s to say Garza can’t be even better? For example, he’s been inconsistent from 3, has been poor from the FT line, is not a great passer, and has improved his defense every year. It’d be hard to expect anything more from Garza as I do believe he’s been the best player in the country this year, but that doesn’t mean he can’t improve.

I don’t know what to expect from other newcomers, but at the very least I’d think it would be a great help to have Patrick McCaffery healthy - he’s the highest rated recruit we’ve had during the Fran era, and likely dating back to at least 2006 (Tyler Smith).

It's a road game in the B10. All reason and rational goes out the window.

Illinois is going to be amped, the officiating is going to be suspect, and Wieskamp still is looking like the Monstars from space jam stole his powers.

I pray that I'm wrong

Getting JBO back is huge--best 3pt shooter in college b-ball. Right now, teams don't guard , Bakari, JoeT. or even Connor at 3pt line and sag in for help. Look at Purdue game...Purdue would have given those 3 guys 40 3pt shots if they had wanted them. Connor was shooting a game of HORSE.

Teams like Purdue, MSU, Indiana have been pretty good at taking away both JoeW and Fredrick with physical defense because they don't have to guard the other guys.

Getting a heathy PMac will be a big plus if he can make 3pt shots and rebound. Should be upgrade over Pemsl, who no one guards until he is in low post.

Defense will still be an issue. Hopefully JoeT and Perkins can be rotated in and give better defense when it is needed. JoeT with a 3pt shot, if he finds it, will be a lot bigger weapon.

Bohannon with CJ, Weez, Nunge and Garza... yeah, go ahead and run doubles at Luka thank you have a nice day.

People knocking JBo’s defense have a point but Joe T sort of makes up for JBo when they’re on the floor together. Plus everybody is a better defender when they’re not shouldering huge minutes and huge responsibility on offense. Jordan’s no longer having to be the always-primary ballhandler, as well as not having to play 34+ minutes, will help him on the defensive end.

I would think there’s a good chance he goes pro after this season
He's a good college player and you should enjoy him while you have him but it's the opinion of many that slow white guys that can't jump may have a future in Europe but not the NBA.

I do enjoy watching him while he's here. this kid will be in the NBA. Whether that be after his JR or SR year remains to be seen.
