I thought it looked stupid but you are right it was better than a red face screaming at the official. A technical foul would have made the comeback impossible.
Hummel thought it was hilarious. No secret Fran hates some of these guys and Fran was definitely baiting Kelly into a reaction. I'd love to hear Fran's honest, off-the-record take on it.
I think Hummel and that other guy are the best college hoops announcers.
Posted the same in another thread. Maybe that’s what Fran should do instead of berate his players or the refs.
He didn’t say anything to the ref. Didn’t threaten him. Didn’t strike him. No second T.

You may be overlooking the time Lute chased Jim Bain down the tunnel after the phantom foul he called that gave Purdue the game.
“Jim Bain and his crew deserves to be in jail, not officiating,” Olson famously said. “It’s an absolute disgrace to steal a basketball game like that, and I told him so.”
You must not have seen the Jim Bain reffed Purdue game. Lute berated the refs plenty.
