It's homecoming in Iowa City and Iowa is coming off of an emotional-hard fought game. Iowa has some big injuries as does Illinois. Will a guy like Mike Dudek for Illinois be back any time soon? Will Josh Ferguson be back for Illinois? Will Iowa get Boone Myers back?

Illinois has the talent to give Iowa a lot of problems at the skill positions and will Iowa have a let down?

As much as I want and how great a 6-0 start would be, I don't see it....

Illinois - 28 Iowa - 23 in a game where we say "what the hell"

OP is an idiot. - he is trying to copy HTO over on the Nebraska board --always picking the opponent --who has been trying to be cute since the beginning of the year. It isn't cute its fvcking dumb. ...and trying to copy that loser is even dumber.

You couldn't be further from the truth

Illinois have some of the most inept receivers in the conference. Their best RB was injured against Nebraska. Other than Lunt, which skill players are you talking about?

Ferguson will be back and their receivers besides Allison are young and gaining confidence.

I always pick Iowa to lose for two reasons:

1. Every time I pick them to win, they lose.
2. Reverse mojo (see #1).

Well at least you came up with that funky mojo on your own and didn't copy some loser from the Husker football board.

There should be concern about this game.
Hawks survived a struggle. CJ had a poor game. T. Smith will still be out.
illanoy will have confidence after their win. While they are not world beaters by any means, they are not without some talent.

I still think they win, but wouldn't surprise me if it's close.

Iowa should be able to pound it against them. Over 200 yds rushing and control the clock. That Will open up the passing lanes for CJB. Smith settles in and has a couple nice catches to start his career.

I don't like what Cubit is accomplishing with this Illinois team. I'm sticking with Iowa because of New Kirk and I'm riding my preseason gut-feel of a special season. In a normal year, this has letdown loss written all over it.

Iowa 23
Illinois 17

I think CJ and Jerminic Smith with another week of reps to get timing down and along with a strong run game provides for an Iowa W.

Nebraska lost because of its own problems not because of Illinois. Iowa's offense will look good and so will the D. It doesn't matter if Ferguson is back or not Iowa will stop their rushing attack. Ott looks to be getting back to himself and I think Duzey breaks out this game. Iowa 35, Illinois 13.

No prediction from me either way. Definitely will not pick Iowa, although I have done so in the past. Here are a couple of examples:
1. Iowa over Northwestern 2006.
2. Iowa over Western Michigan 2007.

The last time I predicted an Iowa win was 2012.....Iowa over Central Michigan.

Probably a good idea if I pass on predictions.

Pssst. You have nothing to do with the outcome of the game.

Going to be a beautiful day for a game - Nebraska defense was TERRIBLE last week - the wind shouldn't be a factor in the passing game, and CJ should have time to throw the ball. HAWKS -28 - 10

Good thought about Duzey. Despite the win @WI, the coaching staff definitely has shortcomings to point at regarding the offense this week (WI's D had something to do with that). Think this will cause the O to come out with a chip on their shoulder to prove something and the D will continue to roll. A 35-13 Iowa win sounds about right.

Illinois doesn't scare me too much. Look what UNC did to them. That's really the only decent team Illinois has played.

Iowa - 35
Illinois - 17

I would be disappointed if we had a letdown game on Homecoming......on the other hand I am not sure why this is not a let down game for Illinois?

Iowa 14-3.* I think think it takes at least one week to figure out our offense without Tevaun Smith, but they have a pocket QB, and I think our defense is going to harass h into incompetence.

*More like 21-3, or better, if L. Daniels finally gets healthy.

My prediction is KF will fake a FG and make it! (feel free to discuss whatever it is)

We're talking about the University of Illinois, right? At Iowa's homecoming. When Iowa's 5-0 for the first time in 6 years, and Illinois is, well... Illinois. Iowa wins by 3 scores, let's say 31-10 (and still gives up zero rushing touchdowns).
