Illinois is tough, nasty, we got a brawl on Sunday......Lets ****ing Go Hawks!!

I'd like to see Joe T, CJ, and Weezy drive to the basket multiple times and get the bigs in foul trouble. Employ the 3/4 court press, and launch OPEN 3's. I believe Garza will get mugged pretty good, but he's tough. Joe T will guard Dosunmu, but we also have to watch Bashanaswheely and Cokeburn.

I'd like to see our 3Pt shooting improve a little, starting with this game.
We're currently #98 (169-482) 35.1% nationally. We're at 37% over the last 5 games.
Illini are currently #294 (113-366) 30.9% nationally. They're at 30.4% over their last 5 games.
I'm hoping we come out hot from 3. The crowd should help us as well. I believe that we can do this. If Joe T can defend Dosunmu without picking up fouls, and the team can defend their 3Pt opportunities, then hopefully they don't leave CHA with a new career high for 3's on us.

I have not seen to much of the Illiniwhiny, but what I have seen simply does not scare me. Dosumu is a decent player and Cockburn is big and athletic for his size, but honestly if our, offense does what it normally does I don't think they have the ability to keep up. They are in first, but I believe they will fade in these next 5 games. But, even a blind Squirrel finds a nut.....so they could prove me wrong.

You mean like WI? Texas Tech?

Iowa can play brawl ball this year, too. This hame will come down to which team can shoot it. And I like Iowa's chances at home. Iowa has to go to Champaign for the last game before the B1G tourney so winning Sunday will be big.
I hope you’re right but I don’t like our chances tomorrow.

Did somebody post that the spread was only 1 1/2? I thought it would be around 4.

But who knows, I was wrong with my gut feeling against Rut & Wis (only thought we’d lose that game after we beat Rut).

Iowa -41/2 to -5. 67% chance of winning.

I’ll take the home team by double digits.

Illinois is obviously much improved from last year but they still have no one that can check Garza. Look at what Oturu did to them last night, e.g.— no answer. They will have trouble guarding our shooters and the way we push the tempo will stress their defense.

I see both their bigs in early foul trouble and Iowa winning comfortably. The only wildcard I see is if Frazier or Griffin catch fire from three. Otherwise, this is a double digit win for the hawks. Iowa is just too much better offensively, and they’re at home.
Raptor your prediction was just about on point as usual! Cheers! Still confident we will complete sweep in Champaign?

I do think we win in Champaign as well.

You have to pick your poison with Iowa — either try to stop the three or try to limit Garza. Honestly... they don’t match up well enough to do either for an entire game. Fredrick just shredded their highly acclaimed back court. It was beautiful.

Pass me what your drinking, I'll take it. And hope you are right.

Brad Underwood has never beaten a Fran coached team.

That won't change tomorrow.
