Love our fans and I get why a lot of fans did not renew their season tickets. But this is a special team and they are on an incredible roll. You just don't see 7-0 very often. We need to sell out for these last 3 games (I'm not worried about Minnesota, but Purdue and Maryland still have some empty seats). These kids really deserve a loud, partisan home crowd for all three games. Frankly, these three games are as important as any an Iowa football team will ever play, because we have a legitimate chance to win a championship (the Western Division championship), and that doesn't happen very often in Iowa City. Please folks, if you have to beg, borrow or steal, show up for these last 3 games! I think this team will reward you with some tremendous performance and hopefully 3 wins!

On the flipside I've seen enough of these post from people begging to fill the stands, give it a break already !

The 8 of us that tailgate together every game will be there plus an additional three for the Hawkoween game. Can't wait.

Perhaps it's because the majority of the people who were making those comments were complete jerks about it, were condescending, didn't listen to the historical evidence, questioned whether the people were 'true' Hawk fans and in general were complete jack wagons about it. So when they are proven wrong they need to hear about it. Perhaps the next time they react they will be a little more decent about it.

I already have my tickets. How about you? Unless they give them away--and they're already selling them for $30--do you really think they'll sell 20,000 more for Purdue? LOL

As any business knows, once you lose your customers, good luck trying to win them back.

When Iowa fans stay home and watch on TV and realize they've saved hundreds of dollars, been able to watch other games in the comfort of their living room, missed all the traffic, been able to access food and beverage and bathroom at will without getting rained on or frozen...well, the game day experience may not be enough to get 'em back into Kinnick Stadium--or most other stadiums around the country, which has been noted many times before.

It's amazing, really, that so many people pay money they can ill afford to show up at sporting events these days, which is why smart folks are downsizing stadiums.

Maryland will be my first game of the season. Parents gave up their season tickets last year, so hasn't been as easy to go

You've turned the corner. Good to have you back! I will also be coming up to that game from PHX. Bball Friday night, wrestling and football Saturday.

How about all of the folks who wanted Kirk gone? Should we just bring that up every other post?

I have no idea what this even means, I was just wondering because friends of mine had like half season tickets because they were on the waiting list for season tickets and I haven't talked to them for awhile so I was just wondering would they would have them by now or not.
 
Heading down from the Twin Cities for Maryland. Second game of the year. Hopefully we can find some poor Minnesota fan up here that was excited about going and wants to get rid of some good tickets for that game too! :)

Sorry, I thought you were one making fun of the people who said we would be fine with tickets because there was a waiting list. There obviously wasn't one and many wanted to attack their statement.

So one good season this year makes up for all the crap we've had to put up with for the last 5?

I still can't believe how he wasted last year. We had the same QB and RBs sitting on the bench while checkdown Jake and Weisman plodded their way to 7-5. If he plays the right personnel we would have been 10-2 and defending our West championship right now. But let's just ignore that and praise the genius of Saint Kirk.

And you know that how? You really should get into coaching. You combine the genius of Lombardi and Shula with your ability to see things that didn't happen would surely make you a perennial coach of the year candidate.

Iowa, sadly, may be learning this a bit late.

I don't have a study to link or anything, but the wisdom I've seen says that every $1 spent keeping satisfied fans/customers coming back is worth $7 attracting new fans and $21 bringing back dissatisfied fans.
