"We're going to play a lot better teams. I didn't think we practiced very well this week. I didn't think we prepared very well for this game. I don't think we respected the team we played. Like I said before, when you're arrogant, it makes you complacent. It creates a blatant disregard for doing things right. If we don't start doing things right, we're not going to have the kind of success that we're capable of."

I mention this because Iowa has played garbage-teams up until this point. The Hawks absolutely MUST respect North Dakota State heading into the game ... and make sure that they're well prepared. If not ... then the team that PLAYS better will win the game. The more talented team isn't always the team that plays better!

If you read Kirk's Q&A after last night's game I think it will bring you some peace of mind. Sounds like the team has the exact opposite of this problem so far.

Given how the Hawks prepared last year ... and the residual influence from that group ... I doubt it becomes a problem.

However, all the same, I found it interesting finding the aforementioned quote. It's especially poignant given how Clemson performed against Troy and how Georgia performed against Nicholl State.

Yeah it is definitely an issue that plagues many great teams. I just wanted to give you some relief. :) .

Interesting.
Seems Saban is taking the opportunity of a mere +28 win to affect a loss for the mindset and demeanor of the Alabama team--a team that doesn't have much experience knowing what a loss feels like. Probably some genuine concerns, but the full attitude seems like a big batch of psychological coaching.
