It's like a lot of timeouts. You watch Iowa get blitzed defensively and on the boards for 5 minutes and Fran uses 95% of the timeout yelling at the officials.

In days past, Fran would have hit Francon level 2 and gotten kicked out of the game after the missed travel call and headlock/hook late in the game. Iowa still would have lost, but at least it was funny for a few minutes

Now he appears sedated and simply irritated.

And its not the freaking refs fault last night.

Last night he was yucking it up with the officials, multiple times during second half timeouts. What he says in the media room =/= what is actually happening.

Literally every call in this game goes Iowa’s way. Payton was hacking people on defense numerous times with no call. And Fran blames the refs. Maybe Fran should have the team find the weight room too. Oregon had guys that could bang around the rim. Iowa just always shies away from contact.
You weren't watching the same game as most folks...EVERY CALL goes Iowa's way??....the banked in three pointer should have been called off on the court and adjudicated as it correctly was....Out of bounds with Braun was clearly iowa possession.....Dembele tip in again was off the rim...They didn't look at Braun getting clocked in the throat why??....so why did Iowa get EVERY call again??

Fran. I stopped reading after “the banked in three pointer should have been called.” It doesn’t matter what it “should“ have been called. The call on the court should have stood. And the Dembele tip was absolutely on the rim. Heck we can’t win even when the refs give us 5 points!

Is it just me or does it feel like we have a good defensive stand and have a banked in three more often than most teams.

Every buzzer beater goes in against us. Okay not every one but it feels like 70% of the time in huge moments it does.

For all the posters that struggle with this his name is EVEN BRAUNS. With a S at the end.

We were called for 2 fouls in 18 minutes of play against a team that was trying to score on the inside. I don't know that Iowa has ever had this type of love. I agree about Payton fouling constantly having 2 hands on his guy. Refs missed the travels but overall they were a plus for Iowa.

Didn't know the weight room could add six inches to their height

How long in the weight room to get up to 7 feet? We need that.

You are not wrong. Iowa did get two key calls at the end, and I think Iowa had ONE foul the first 18 minutes of the second half before they started fouling intentionally.

But I do feel compelled to point out one egregious no-call. An Oregon player collided with Even Brauns in front of the Iowa bench. An official was standing maybe 10 feet behind the play, stared right at it, and shrugged. The Oregon player, after brushing Brauns, grabbed him around the neck with his right arm and just missed scoring a takedown. But the official ignores it. Meanwhile, they call phantom fouls.
Iowa asked the officials to review the Brauns situation, but they refused. The fact is it was a flagrant foul, at the least. But to the official it was just a no-call. I have no idea how any sentient human being could explain that, just for the record.
