Indiana bought a football team

"My thoughts are you sign a contract, I mean, you can't just up and break it," Tuberville said. "You're gonna sign a year, two-year, three-year, if you got a three-year contract and you break it there's gotta be some kind of penalty.“

Pretty rich for a guy who said "They'll have to carry me out of here in a pine box", in reference to not leaving Ole Miss. Less than a week later, he accepted a the Auburn job which doubled his pay. https://web.archive.org/web/2020110...com/decaturdaily/sports/columns/071026c.shtml

Also, if you’re pointing to big bad INDIANA as an example for why NIL is an unfair for competitive balance…LOL. Indiana has always sucked at football. If anything, this is a success story for how NIL can help competitive balance. Tuberville is not just a hypocrite, he’s also pretty dumb.

Probably good for Schumer to be on his way out, particularly for this issue. Needs to be some accountability.

Are you talking about Sen. Chuck Shumer? What does he have to do with NCAA, NIL, coaching contracts, etc. I must have missed that news

Read the full article. Unionizing college athletics is a terrible idea.
hahahaha, you think Schumer not bringing NIL legislation to a senate vote is some big mistake or problem. We have way more important legislation in our govt than this stupid NIL crap. NIL is child's play compared to Ag bills and a lot of other issues that mean food for hungry kids, housing, etc etc, basic needs, lower cost medicines, etc etc.

Wow, NIL is like number 1525 down on the list of items of importance to the Senate, our govt, and our population.

Setting aside the hypocracy is he wrong? Seems like there should be some rules to buying and selling kids to play football.

edit: I notice nobody wants to talk about the issue raised. Let's just bash TT instead.

Dumb is a compliment to Tubererville. The guy is a full blown moron.

LOL. Tuberville's MAGA cult just bought an election. He seems OK with that. A million dollars for votes from billionaire lunatic Elon Musk is just fine, eh, Tommy? LOL again.

And yah, Indiana went out and bought themselves the mighty players from JAMES MADISON! Ha, ha, ha, ha.

The SEC has been buying players since day one, and back then it was illegal. Now? You can do whatever.

Tuberville is just another maniac with a deficient brain who wouldn't be trusted as a night janitor in an elementary school, so instead he's a vaunted member of the United States Congress.

Tuberville is, indeed, a hypocrite and a moron, perfect credentials for high office in what used to be the USA.

Tuberville has some epic recruiting stories, like leaving a group of recruits at a restaurant when he bolted for Cincinnati. Bro is a full blown POS, and only the great state of Alabama would elect such an esteemed douche bag.

How much did Indiana drop for a bunch of JMU guys and a mac qb? I bet 3 guys at Ole Piss got more.
Thats the great part about Indiana. They created a 10-0 team off the rack in the clearance section at TJ Maxx.
I suspect they paid less for a whole team than Texas or Alabama pay for one backup QB.
It would be interesting to see a breakdown of NIL $/wins at the FBS schools.
