Heading out to Bloomington for the Iowa Indiana game in October. Any thoughts on Memorial Stadium out there and where to go? How is the tailgating? Should I get tickets now? Just looking for some recommendations when we head out there. Thanks

Went there 2 years ago. Bloomington is a blast. Beautiful college town. One bar I remembered we started at for food and drinks is called Nicks I believe. Huge tailgate area I believe south of stadium. It’s behind the end zone side they were doing construction on last year (opposite end of CJs jump into the end zone). Tailgate area reminded me of Olive Ct just little more hilly but tons of space. Lot of fans there and half stay there and didnt go into the game. Plus they were pretty friendly because as a b-ball school they don’t care too much about Iowa.

Best campus in the B1G. Be sure to make time to see it.

I'm sure StubHub seats will be cheap, even close to game day.

Tailgating is good, right outside the stadium. Game day atmosphere and stadium are awful.

A lot of IU fans don't even go into the game. If I recall, I may be wrong maybe someone else can clarify, but you can leave at halftime and come back in

What IaHawkeyes17 said is exactly right. NIck's just south of campus. And major grass tailgating area just south of stadium. Great town.

I know a guy that's been there a couple of times and he says it is great for all of the reasons listed above. Also said the same about the stadium and apparently the Indiana fans just don't give a crap about football other than it is an excuse to get outside on a nice day and drink beers.

The Hoosier game could be tough this year. They'll likely be improved on O ... and their head coach is more of a defensive-minded guy ... a much needed change for the Hoosiers.

While the Hawks should be favored ... and while a team like Maryland will be more talented .... the Hoosier game will be an under-rated challenge for the Hawks in '18.

Good insight Ghost, but I think most of the guys were more concerned with where to get their drink on before the game.......

I'm a hoosier so let me fill you in. Head down to Kirkwood that's where the action is. If you like ethnic food on 4th street next to Kirkwood has several good eateries. If you want a top notch steak go to Jankos little Zagreb. Don't stay in Indy. If you want a nice diversion stay at Spring Mill State park lodge. Nice facility and several nice hiking trails.

Exactly right but I-37 to BTown sucks. I've lived here in Indy 12 years and that road seems to have been under construction the entire time.
Tailgate in the lot directly south of the stadium. Large park with great spaces. IU should be ashamed they have such a great gameday experience and their fans don't give a shi+.
