Indiana is intercepting packages at a FedEx shipping hub, running K-9s over them, and forfeiting any cash found w/o saying a specific crime

Back in my former life lurking days, Phil Hartman would have called these pigs the “worlds most dangerous street gang”

These civil asset forfeiture proceedings are insane, and a very real threat to our collective freedom. Nothing more critical than the fourth amendment, and CAF is an egregious violation of it.

Indiana is making an ass of itself. Ohio used to, and probably still does, like to separate cash from people in traffic stops and make it nearly impossible to get back. IIRC, both of those states also like to run up a ton of fees during traffic stops that end up with people serving jail sentences and going further into debt woth collections agencies.

is the cash coming from abroad? if that is the case i can see possible reasons for seizure but random seizure with no charges is frightening
edit: just read the article, pretty horrifying. basically mobsters in uniform.

This is an example of extreme government overreach that should be opposed by all Americans, regardless of their political affiliation. It is outrageous that carrying or sending cash is considered criminal without any actual crime being committed.

Indiana, Ohio, ... Way too many states do this. But, since it's usually out of state people getting screwed over it continues.
