An 0-2 start in BT play, with Illinois and Maryland up next - two teams that could also beat them.

I caught the last 10 minutes of the Indiana/Wisconsin game; Indiana came back (I think) to tie the game late, and with just a couple minutes left, they were within 3 pts with the ball.

Wisconsin scored with 1:30 left and was up 5, when Indiana had a complete brain-fart on the in-bounds.

The player throwing the ball in was just standing under the basket and not picking up the ball.
Why?

Because NO Indiana players were in the backcourt to receive the inbounds; he stood there for almost 5 seconds before someone finally came up-court to take the inbounds pass (Wisconsin wasn't pressing at all). It was actually a pretty heads up play by him, as if he'd have just picked it up and stepped behind the baseline, the 5 second count would have started, and none of the Indiana players were 'taking the point'.

Seeing a team that's been ranked in the top 25 most of the early season have that kind of miscommunication, and then end up behind by 10 up until the final seconds, after nearly tying the game up at 1:30 - that was something I'd never expect to see from an Indiana team. They just looked completely out of their element in the last minutes.

If Iowa 'protects' home court (9 wins) and can sneak just 2 road wins, that's 11-7 (that does mean beating Purdue at home - not a gimmee at all). Indiana is already 'down' two home losses, so they are in some serious trouble to finish much better than 9-9 at this point....

Tomorrow's road game at Nebraska is a much bigger game than anyone expected against a team that already has taken two (surprising) conference road wins.

Indiana has issues, but they do have talent and will win games unless the team just implodes. Iowa is not winning all 9 games at home, the only time that's happened I believe is when Brunner and Horner were seniors (and Haluska was a junior). Iowa is simply not good enough to win all of its home games. Hope like heck I'm wrong, but not expecting it.

Nebraska will be a very tough game. They are playing very, very well. Unselfishly, playing very hard, coming up with loose balls, competing on defense. All the little things that mean the difference between winning and losing.

True BUT this young Iowa team is going to win some road games on their shooting talent alone (they will have games where they just go off and nights they won't be able to hit anything (outside of Jok, he won't ever be too far off)).

I love this young team. If Tyler Cook can get in an offensive rhythm and stop trying to force things (like he did the final 10 minutes of the UM game) this team will be dangerous the second half of the BIG season and in the BTT.

Future so bright

Not sure why Indiana was so hyped up this year.... I get they returned OG, Thomas Bryant, James Blackmon, etc; however, they lost their most important piece... Yogi Ferrell. A good point guard in college basketball can get you to high places

I wasn't understanding the love for Indiana either. It looks like Clappy forgot to Crean one of his
players and get a PG to replace Yogi.
I thought it was funny ESPN kept showing some white kid in a suit on the bench as the reason
why Indiana has sucked and lost 3 games in a row.

They have a lot of talent on that team. That's why they were getting hype. And they have wins against Kansas and North Carolina. That's nothing to sneeze at.

Yogi really carried that team last year. Shows you what a great point guard can do for a team.

They lost Yogi + the Michigan 6'8 transfer that played the post and made 3pt shots + that abd outside shooter, can't recall his name but he shot upper 40% from 3pt line...they had good unit last year. This year they have a lot of good players but overall unit not that great.

IU will still finish in the top half of the league. They have at least as much talent as any other B1G team. Tan Tommie is an awful game coach. Yogi made a lot of plays that didn't make the box score, and gave his team a level of confidence that they lack now. Blackmon sat much of the game yesterday to send him a message that there are two ends of the court. They miss Hartman, who was a very good defender, screener, and shooter, but is injured.

Yeah they looked rough. I'll bet that if Dick Vitale had an " All Chernobyl Team" the Hoosiers would be right up there.
