An 0-2 start in BT play, with Illinois and Maryland up next - two teams that could also beat them.
I caught the last 10 minutes of the Indiana/Wisconsin game; Indiana came back (I think) to tie the game late, and with just a couple minutes left, they were within 3 pts with the ball.
Wisconsin scored with 1:30 left and was up 5, when Indiana had a complete brain-fart on the in-bounds.
The player throwing the ball in was just standing under the basket and not picking up the ball.
Why?
Because NO Indiana players were in the backcourt to receive the inbounds; he stood there for almost 5 seconds before someone finally came up-court to take the inbounds pass (Wisconsin wasn't pressing at all). It was actually a pretty heads up play by him, as if he'd have just picked it up and stepped behind the baseline, the 5 second count would have started, and none of the Indiana players were 'taking the point'.
Seeing a team that's been ranked in the top 25 most of the early season have that kind of miscommunication, and then end up behind by 10 up until the final seconds, after nearly tying the game up at 1:30 - that was something I'd never expect to see from an Indiana team. They just looked completely out of their element in the last minutes.
If Iowa 'protects' home court (9 wins) and can sneak just 2 road wins, that's 11-7 (that does mean beating Purdue at home - not a gimmee at all). Indiana is already 'down' two home losses, so they are in some serious trouble to finish much better than 9-9 at this point....
Tomorrow's road game at Nebraska is a much bigger game than anyone expected against a team that already has taken two (surprising) conference road wins.
