The Hoosiers will be tough to beat. Watched the game against OSU and Indy played them tough for three quarters. The Ramsey to Westbrook combination looked tough. In addition, Ramsey can roll out well and run with the football. I did not see the Buckeyes get much pressure on Ramsey so their O-line must be good.

Indiana's left defensive end brought a lot of pressure all day. Thought Indiana's LBers looked good against the run, DB's were porous but OSU WR's are elite.

Indiana does not have a huge home field advantage but still Hawks are on the road, never easy. Nervous about this match-up.

If this is going to be a 10 win season, we can't lose to Indiana. Wisconsin wins these games every year and that's the main difference between them and us. If we wish to elevate the program, we win this game and others like it.
I don't disagree. Looks like our schedule is tougher than expected. Maryland the following week has great athletes and of course Northwestern always gives us fits.

The OnIowa guys always say Indiana is a tough place to play. Just a sleepy, dead crowd, hard to get up for, etc. Lulls you to sleep.

Indy still has the 4th qrt woes. Typical Iowa game, close for 3 qrts and we squeak it out in the 4th.

31-24 Iowa.

Need to go in and start fast again. Could look a lot like Minny. We will have to tighten up defensively, and our 2 freshman corners have a game under their Belt. KF says OJ and Hank are close to 100% so that's a plus. We will have to grind it out and out run them most likely.

I have a bad feeling about Indiana as Hawks give a lackluster performance. Hope I just have indigestion.

We need to win the line of scrimmage, on both offense and defense and not turn the ball over. If we can swing those we will come home with another W.

I believe he is dinged with an ankle injury. Likely not a great threat to run much.

OSU running game and D hasn't been that great.

I think folks are giving IN too much credit. That said, I sure hope we are healthier by Saturday. Or it could be closer than I'd like.

Indiana didnt even play well. That was basically their C+ game. Ramsey missed 2 or 3 WIDE OPEN WRs for TDs. If he starts connecting on those, Big Ten teams will be in trouble. Our WRs are EXPLOSIVE. And 2 of them havent played the last 3 weeks but are good to go Saturday. Seems like IU has been resting a lot of injured players the past few weeks to make sure they could play vs Iowa. Must win game for us.

I don’t see this as an especially close game this year. Indiana has a similar talent profile and scheme like Minnesota. They’ll be constrained to do RPO type stuff and won’t be able to stretch the field vertically due to our pass rush while they are on offense. I expect that Indiana will try to stop the run by slanting and having their linebackers and strong safety going downhill at the snap. Iowa simply needs to scratch where it itches with the pass game.

We’re going to beat Indiana by double digits. Unlike past years we bring a decent passing offense and aggressive schemes and a top 10 caliber defense. We are closer in profile to Ohio State than we are to Indiana.

If Iowa can avoid giving offenses the ball inside the 10 and basically play a clean game, the Hawks should win going away. The Defense is for real and if Welch is healthy, he'll step in a do a fine job at the Mike. Any injuries at the LB spots could be somewhat disastrous for this game.

I feel really bad for Indiana if they think this is a “get right” game for them vs Iowa. But if this team was as explosive as you say, why did Indiana score only 24 points against Rutgers? Indiana has borderline had trouble scoring this year against everybody

They have yet to play well. Seriously. And are 4-2. Played awful vs Michigan State and it was a 7 pt game with 2 minutes left. Played mediocre against the best team in this conference and hung around for 3 qtrs. To be honest, as an Indiana fan, I think we have more talent than Iowa. But. Kirk Ferentz is a better coach. Big difference between a guy with 25 years of head coaching experience and a guy with almost 2. Kirk Ferentz has been out coaching our Head Coaches since 2000. If our coaching staff is equal to the task on Saturday, we will win. If not, it will be just like 2 years ago. I think this game means a lot more to Indiana. Our coaching staff is basically coaching for their jobs. If they dont make a bowl game and get some kind of meaningful win, they might be gone after next season. Our players are getting desperate to beat someone good which is why they played so hard at Ohio State. And with it being Homecoming and Nate Sudfeld coming back to remind them which team injured him and ruined a decent season, I expect them to play this game like it's the Rose Bowl.

Your honesty aside, Iowa is quite capable of losing this game but not for the reason you cite.

Recruiting and talent wise this year and certainly next year will be Iowa's best in 10 years. If Iowa can stop the run, out secondary will create turnovers.

I'm concerned about your D-line which is always good. But you're asking a lot of 2 true Freshman CBs to cover some of the best WRs in the conference and come up with Ints. If Ramsey has any time at all he can pick those guys apart. Same with Nathan Stanley. If we dont get heat on him, Fant and your #2 TE are going to live in the middle of the field.

I wouldn't trade rosters with Iowa. I'd trade Head Coaches though.
So I moseyed over to your board, and it seems like you're the Indiana version of HerbieHawk. You're blind to how ignorant the above statement is.

Best of luck to you this season, after Saturday.

Something new I learned today:

If Indiana starts bringing their B+ game, there is a team, army, or country that can stop them. God help us all.

You are delusional then. Iowa has the best pass blocking OL and best defensive front in the entire conference. Our 2nd string TE is better than any other conference starter at that position. Stanley is the best QB prospect in the conference. Etc, etc.
I wouldn’t even trade you straight up for Indiana’s WRs right now. Good luck on Saturday, you’ll need it. We’ve beaten the crap out of every team we’ve played besides Wisconsin. Who we were leading until 50 sec left in the game.

I agree, and I think our mental toughness and discipline improves every game. I do think we have higher potential than Wiscy, but their intelligence is higher and more consistent than ours every year it seems. Makes me wonder if they have an intelligence coach.

Hey! Hey!!!!

Fant is Iowa’s #2 TE...... Ask his family.

For whatever reason Indiana has hung with Ohio State over the last 10 years. I wouldn't put too much stock in that. You do have an uncharacteristically good defense this year. This should be a close game. If Iowa doesn't give the ball away I would think Iowa covers.

Comparing rosters, I have no idea. It;s been awhile since Iowa has had this many top tier players on their roster. The DL 1-8 might be top 15, maybe even top 10.

We hung around last year too with Ohio State!

HUNG 55 POINTS ON THEM!!!!!

I saw that Indiana blitzed on 40 % of its defensive plays. That is a huge number so the Hawks need to protect Stanley. If they do, there could be some big gains by the WRs/TEs. Indiana appears to be solid on both sides of the ball not great at either but good enough that if Iowa makes mistakes like they did last week then Indiana could win.

Haskins>Stanley
OSU D-line>Iowa D-line
Wisconsin O-line>Iowa O-line

You guys have a good team. Let's not act like this is 2015. Its not even close to that team and you beat a worse Indiana team by 7.

Not impressed with Ohio State's defense at all. They are lucky they can score bunches of points. And Iowa's 2018 defense is shaping up to be significantly better than 2015.

Indiana game (especially on the road) is always one of those games that concerns me. It could easily chalk up as "one of those games we shouldn't lose but someone we find a way."

Most experts on the BIG network are picking Indiana over Iowa.

Hope they are wrong
