So the bigger question then is why is Payton playing 36 minutes in a game when he has an injured shooting wrist, can't practice, and by his own admission can't do much of anything today? 🙄Payton & Josh are battling wrist injuries, which I think explains their shooting woes.
In the last game, Traore was seen getting both legs treated.

Agreed, if Dix & Peyton are hurt, play Pryce & Koch more minutes. So the bigger question then is why is Payton playing 36 minutes in a game when he has an injured shooting wrist, can't practice, and by his own admission can't do much of anything today? 🙄
After reading about injury I couldn't figure out why the hell he was playing. Then constantly chucking is even more perplexing. No shit.
Hopefully he's exaggerating because of his poor shooting, otherwise there's no good explanation for it.

There, I fixed that for ya Fran...
Or even more so why would he be chucking up 14 three's.......So the bigger question then is why is Payton playing 36 minutes in a game when he has an injured shooting wrist, can't practice, and by his own admission can't do much of anything today? 🙄
Probably because that's what Fran has told him to do. Otherwise he wouldn't be out there doing it.Or even more so why would he be chucking up 14 three's.......
Not saying that Fran didn't give him the green light, (is there any other light for Fran), but at some point you would think the guy would know this isn't working and adjust. He knows his body better the anyone. You didn't see Dix chucking up a bunch of shots with a bad wrist.Probably because that's what Fran has told him to do. I don't know. It's more than a green light. I think he has told Sandfort that the only way he sits is if he isn't hoisting 3's when he is on the floor. I've seen him get angry when certain players don't shoot. Not saying that Fran didn't give him the green light, (is there any other light for Fran), but at some point you would think the guy would know this isn't working and adjust. I get it. Its just that the guy will make a couple of those off balance running three's in a game, and then he'll go ten games and not make any of those off balance chucks. No doubt, shooters have to shoot. I've often wanted to see Dix look for his shot more, and he seems to be getting with that more this season. He's the best three level scorer on this team. Thats why I was surprised when almost didn't shoot at all in the last one. Now we know he was still having issues with his wrist from the previous game.I don't know. It's more than a green light. Yeah. I knew there was something wrong with Dix in that little stretch of games. He can be a reluctant scorer, but it was obvious that he didn't feel right. The difference in these games between he and Sandfort is that Josh played around 20 minutes and hoisted a handful of shots and Sandfort plays 30+ and hoisted 14+. Again, this is totally on Fran and it probably cost them that Utah State game where Payton was absolutely terrible and Fran leaves Thelwell and others on the bench.I get it. Well, this is worrisome.
You're right about that. Just because he had a look from the NBA he thinks he needs to be the man. In actuality he's the third best scorer on the team if Dix & Freeman would get his touches. This team doesn't need Payton to be the man, or more so we don't need him to be the man shooting 15 three's every game. If he's hot, ok. If he's not, draw the defense and give up the rock to Freeman & Dix. Quit forcing shots up like you need to reach your quota for F's sake!Sandfort has certainly improved elements of his game over the past couple of years, but just not effective trying to be “the man.” Just a streaky shooter but we really need some long balls from him.
Last night was a perfect night to rest anybody with an injury. Riley dominated them. Pryce should have played the long minutes last night. No shit.

He’s never been the go-to guy. Even in high school. I don’t know why they’re trying to make him one. You're right about that. Just because he had a look from the NBA he thinks he needs to be the man. His basketball future and this year’s team would be best served by him putting his offensive kinetic energy into rebounding on both ends.
Not that it's any of our business, but anyone know what "happened over the summer" to Koch that would have him back in the hospital?
