Pretty solid analysis. I'm happy to see the badgers at the bottom of the league (14th).

11. Iowa (19-15 last season)

Eligibility remaining: Payton Sandfort, Brock Harding, Josh Dix, Owen Freeman, Pryce Sandfort, Ladji Dembele, Even Brauns, Riley Mulvey
NBA Draft/professional route/out of eligibility: Ben Krikke
Transfer portal: Tony Perkins (to Missouri), Patrick McCaffery (to Butler), Dasonte Bowen (to St Bonaventure)
Arriving: Drew Thelwell (from Morehead State), Seydou Traore (from Manhattan), Cooper Koch (247Composite top 80), Chris Tadjo

The case for Iowa: Sandfort, one of the top players in the conference, is back for his senior season and could be an All-Big Ten first-team player.

The case against Iowa: Losing Perkins to Missouri sets back the backcourt and Iowa didn’t do enough to improve upon a roster that missed the NCAA tournament last spring.

Wow, so in depth. I feel ready for the season. Thanks for sharing.
I feel confident that you didn't/still don't know at least 85% of the information presented in that article.

Do these expert analysts actually get paid for producing this? Seems like a decent summary of the players available, who is leaving and coming in. Interesting that his cons were about coaches for several teams, but he didn't mention Woodson at IU, who has done less with top talent. more than any other coach in the league.

As I've said, 11th won't be good enough. Need to make the tournament this year. If they don't then Fran needs to go.
Fran is gone after this season whether we make the tourney or not. He's 65, 90% of his family is in Indiana, and Marge wanted out years ago.

I hope we open the checkbook and land a guy that can at least make us the best program in the state of Iowa again, but I'm not holding my breath.

NIL backing will be a huge problem getting someone to come. It's why we may look back, and realize we should've moved on DeVries this past off season.

Could be right. I've been ready for Fran to move on for years, but that clearly wasn't going to happen.
I would have been happy with DeVries, but I still think there will be coaching options with guys wanting to move up. Yes, Iowa isn't going to be one of the places throwing multiple millions to buy its men's b-ball roster. But it's still in one of the two leagues that are getting the lion's share of media rights dollars.

Correct, but I'm a skeptic on just how much of that cash the players will see. There will also always be NIL in addition.
