Just spit balling:

5-0 | 1-1 BTT > 21-12 / 12-8 = Firmly In (7/8 seed)
4-1 | 1-1 BTT > 20-13 / 11-9 = In (8/9 seed)
4-1 | 0-1 BTT> 19-13 / 11-9 = In (9/10 seed)
3-2 | 2-1 BTT> 20-14 / 10-10 = Likely In/Last 4 Byes (10/11)
3-2 | 1-1 BTT> 19-14 / 10-10 = Bubble/Last 4 In- PIG
3-2 | 0-1 BTT> 18-14 / 10-10 = Bubble/Last 4 Out
2-3 | 2-1 BTT> 19-15 / 9-11 = Out
2-3 | 1-1 BTT> 18-15 / 9-11 = Out

If our only loss is at Illinois then we are solid. But I think we finish 2-2 and need to do some work in the BTT.
It'll somewhat depend on what the other teams on the bubble do as well. Let's also root for Minnesota tomorrow--them beating OSU likely means we go from a Q2/Q3 wins against them to Q1/Q2 wins against them as they are very close to the #75 magic number.

The thing to remember with Northwestern, is they recently lost Ty Berry for the rest of the year--their second best player outside of Buie. We'll still need to play well to beat them, but this isn't the same Cats that beat Purdue and Illinois at home.
agreed, that game looks a lot less daunting as it did weeks ago

I think 2-2 (beat PSU and NW) is the most likely ending but you never know on a senior day what can happen

Per the poll, Iowa has already exceeded the expectations of 62.9% of the votes, and with one more win it will be up to 81.5%. Yet, somehow, if they don't finish the season strong, there will be an angry, Fire Fran group that will surface. It's the way of the sports fan.

That's where I'm at. I seriously doubt they win out (@ILL is always a tall order). 3-1 is possible. My gut says 2-2.

Guess I predicted 19 wins a long time ago. After the usual rollercoaster of emotions after wins/losses, that might just be the number.

Throwing out the NET and all the metrics. 20 wins is typically a dancing number for any B1G team. JUST WIN.

Unfortunately, at Illinois is tough and we'll all be ready to jump off a cliff again after that game. At least we have the MSU win to celebrate currently and NCAA dreams are alive today

Hawks have a way of setting you up for disappointment. Always temper expectations and we won't lose anyone slipping off the ledge!

Bingo. I think a win at Nortwestern is very doable, that would be a nice boost. If we somehow win at Illinois we could probably go 2-2 and get in with 2 BTT wins.

Buie is unguardable as thy let him caery the ball thenway Woodridge used too.

Need to get on the opposite side of Purdue at the BIG tourney. Only way that Iowa can get 2-3 wins in the tourney. Any BIG team not named Purdue is beatable for Iowa. Any BIG team not named Purdue is also capable of beating this Iowa team.
NIT is our destination barring a BIG Tourney title.

Strange year to be an Iowa fan, and strange B-ball season. I’m not as passionate a MBB fan as I once was, but I follow and watch and I actually think this team has over achieved 🤷‍♂️ pleasantly. And I say that with no regret?

If they can play some postseason basketball, and get some exposure and momentum? I think it plays well into next year!

Purdue does seem like an impossible matchup for us.

If we win last 2 reg season games, that should get us in the dance. Would be 2 more Quad 1 wins. Also would be 11-9 in league play.

2 bad losses, earlier along in the season, for a team playing 5 freshmen getting plenty of playing time. And if we finish with 2 wins. Unless we get run out of the gym in our first game of the tournament. It would be hard to keep us out of the dance.

Looking at the stretch run the Hawks actually have an outside shot at finishing in the top 4 in the BIG.
PU and Illini are pretty locked in at 1-2.
NW- 11-6. vs Iowa , @msu,vs minny
Wis- 10-7 vs Illini,vs RU, @ PU
Neb-10-8 vs RU, @ Mich
MSU - 9-8 vs PU vs NW
Minn-9-9 @ NW
Iowa- 9-9 @ NW vs ILL

If Hawks can win out and get to 11-9 they have tiebreak vs all other teams vying for the 3/4 seeds.
All those teams could slide to 11-9 altho not likely that NW loses all three. We do need RU to finish strong and beat Neb.
Iowa could claim the #4 seed in BIG if all else goes chalk.

That would be amazing
Go Hawkeyes!

This is a fun website this time of year: https://bball.notnothing.net/big10.php?sport=mbb

If Iowa wins the last 2 games and Rutgers beats Nebraska, that's all we'd need to get the 4 seed if everything else went as expected.

It's still a long shot (unlikely RU wins at Nebby, even less likely for Mich to beat Nebby), but possible. And the argument can be made that we want to play on Thur to have the opportunity to get an extra win for the resume.
