I think it'll be really close.Do we get in if our only loss is @ Illinois?
Yeah, that did not help eitherYou mean the refs amp up the foul calling. 11 straight fouls on the Hawks. fugging ridiculous.
If our only loss is at Illinois then we are solid. But I think we finish 2-2 and need to do some work in the BTT.I think it'll be really close.
It'll somewhat depend on what the other teams on the bubble do as well. Let's also root for Minnesota tomorrow--them beating OSU likely means we go from a Q2/Q3 wins against them to Q1/Q2 wins against them as they are very close to the #75 magic number. If our only loss is at Illinois then we are solid. But I think we finish 2-2 and need to do some work in the BTT.
Beating Illinois at home or @ Northwestern will be difficult. The Cats seem to be a juggernaut at home this year. And they just don’t match up well with Illinois. If our only loss is at Illinois then we are solid. But I think we finish 2-2 and need to do some work in the BTT.
agreed, that game looks a lot less daunting as it did weeks agoThe thing to remember with Northwestern, is they recently lost Ty Berry for the rest of the year--their second best player outside of Buie. We'll still need to play well to beat them, but this isn't the same Cats that beat Purdue and Illinois at home.
That's where I'm at. I seriously doubt they win out (@ILL is always a tall order). 3-1 is possible. My gut says 2-2.agreed, that game looks a lot less daunting as it did weeks ago
I think 2-2 (beat PSU and NW) is the most likely ending but you never know on a senior day what can happen
Looks like my 17 wins is in jeopardy.I think 2-2 (beat PSU and NW) is the most likely ending but you never know on a senior day what can happen
For as long as I can remember.....Hawks have a way of setting you up for disappointment. Always temper expectations and we won't lose anyone slipping off the ledge!
Bingo. I think a win at Nortwestern is very doable, that would be a nice boost. If we somehow win at Illinois we could probably go 2-2 and get in with 2 BTT wins. It'll somewhat depend on what the other teams on the bubble do as well. Let's also root for Minnesota tomorrow--them beating OSU likely means we go from a Q2/Q3 wins against them to Q1/Q2 wins against them as they are very close to the #75 magic number.
I don’t like having to win 2 BTT games but agree that a 2-2 finish will require it.Bingo. I think a win at Nortwestern is very doable, that would be a nice boost. If we somehow win at Illinois we could probably go 2-2 and get in with 2 BTT wins.
Buie is unguardable as thy let him caery the ball thenway Woodridge used too.The thing to remember with Northwestern, is they recently lost Ty Berry for the rest of the year--their second best player outside of Buie. We'll still need to play well to beat them, but this isn't the same Cats that beat Purdue and Illinois at home.
That wouldn’t be the worst thing. A bunch of extra games for the freshmen.Iowa is a shoe-in as NIT runner-up.
Would still require a deep BTT run to get on bubble17 is still in play.
NopeWould still require a deep BTT run to get on bubble
Need to get on the opposite side of Purdue at the BIG tourney. Only way that Iowa can get 2-3 wins in the tourney. Any BIG team not named Purdue is beatable for Iowa. Any BIG team not named Purdue is also capable of beating this Iowa team.Nope
Not necessarily but likely need to win out in regular season nowNope

NIT is our destination barring a BIG Tourney title.
If we win last 2 reg season games, that should get us in the dance. Would be 2 more Quad 1 wins. Also would be 11-9 in league play.Need to get on the opposite side of Purdue at the BIG tourney. We just don’t have enough big bodies to match Edey and they torched us from 3 too.Purdue does seem like an impossible matchup for us.
This is a fun website this time of year: https://bball.notnothing.net/big10.php?sport=mbbLooking at the stretch run the Hawks actually have an outside shot at finishing in the top 4 in the BIG.
PU and Illini are pretty locked in at 1-2.
NW- 11-6. vs Iowa , @msu,vs minny
Wis- 10-7 vs Illini,vs RU, @ PU
Neb-10-8 vs RU, @ Mich
MSU - 9-8 vs PU vs NW
Minn-9-9 @ NW
Iowa- 9-9 @ NW vs ILL
If Hawks can win out and get to 11-9 they have tiebreak vs all other teams vying for the 3/4 seeds.
All those teams could slide to 11-9 altho not likely that NW loses all three. We do need RU to finish strong and beat Neb.
Iowa could claim the #4 seed in BIG if all else goes chalk.
That would be amazing
Go Hawkeyes!
