I gave Iowa the benefit of the doubt in tonight's game. So, -1 for me. 15 wins total now is where I'm at.

8 games left, hope I'm wrong and the Hawks can pick off a few extra wins, but hard to see more than 2 wins, 3 at most.

No post season. It will be over in a month. Thankfully.

Is this the end of the Fran era is the question. If BF got ran off from a 10 win football team,,,,,whats the delay here?

Right now the hawks are only +1 from my prediction, Minny is playing some really good basketball right now so I think that game is going to be a hard tougher than I thought 2 months ago

Just a reminder, not all Q1 games are created equal--every Q1 game that Iowa has played has been "Q1A" including: #2 home & away, #9 away, #15 away, #19 away and #25 on a neutral. Compare that to Michigan & Maryland who got a Q1 win by beating Iowa in Carver. The fact that playing @ Purdue and @ Iowa are both Q1, fans should know that added context is helpful to look at these numbers.

I really thought the overseas trip was going to pay more dividends than it has.

And I agree with you; our schedule has been tougher than what most will give credit. But, at the same time, by "simply" winning these 4 winnable games, we'd be at 17-6, 9-3 (one game behind 1st place Purdue, which is at 10-2).

#103 NET Michigan, at home, 90-80 LOSS
#83 NET Maryland, at home, 69-67 LOSS
#98 NET Indiana, at their place, 74-68 LOSS
#95 NET Penn State, at their place, 89-79 LOSS

100% agree--especially since 3 of the 4 we were leading late in the 2nd half. Maddening that it feels like the team is so close to being much, much better and yet here we are.

The last time Purdue and Iowa went to a Final 4 was in 1980.

Purdue will finally break through this year...right? ;)

I put the bottom at 0-8 and the top at 4-4. Of the four games that they have been in the hunt, they have lost 3 ( Indiana, Maryland, and Penn State) and won 1 (OSU). Based on that history, 2–6 is the predicted outcome. They have played themselves off the bubble. Hopefully they can reverse that trend.

I disagree 100% with the logic, but the sentiment is pretty indicative of “Iowa fan” here….football….no offense…..,.,basketball no defense. Come on Beth………do your job! ;)

No Big Ten regular season titles since 1979. 2 Sweet Sixteens since 1989.

certainly looking like the hawks have a good chance to surpass my 15 win prediction, barring a total collapse

although it's tough sledding the rest of the way, the only game that might be favored to win could be PSU

Interesting strategy Fran has a gift for late game, 45 seconds, calling a bunch of timeouts and still losing by 12

I'm sticking with 18....to include 1 W in the BTT

:(

Things were looking good last night till the last 10 minutes. Team can look good at times but rarely can put it together for an entire game. Even in W's, consistently inconsistent. Frustrating to watch...

Just gonna throw out a long standing beef I've had with Fran's teams.

It doesn't look like any of our guys hit the weight room. Getting out muscled for rebounds is a staple. I don't understand it, it always looks like boys against men. Consistently.

We looked pretty good early, but they amped up defense in 2nd half and we were a chevelle with bald tires in a snowstorm. Just steamrolled down the stretch. The athleticism delta was on full display.
You mean the refs amp up the foul calling. 11 straight fouls on the Hawks. fugging ridiculous.

63% of us fans thought we would win 15 or less. I was going w 12.
So, not surprised with this year's record

If we beat PSU and finish 7-11 in BIG do we escape the Wed. game in BTT?
Hope so cuz that is how this will probably play out.

Fran should send Lisa a thank you card at the end of the season for allowing the men’s team to toil in relative anonymity this year. Next year the spotlight will be back on him.

It appears that we will be in a pitched battle with PSU and MD to escape the dreaded Wed slot in BTT.
2 of three will fall to Wed slot.
Mich and OSU has a lock on bottom 2.
If it is PSU and Iowa joining those two then the top 4 football teams in BIG this year end up as bottom 4 in BB. Odd coincidence or a byproduct of NIL money going to FB programs at FB schools?

Of those bottom 5 I do believe that the Terps are the best so expect them to rise.
