I like Tom Davis a lot. He has mentioned how hard it is to make a run in the NCAA Tournament because all of the teams are good and each time you win a game your next opponent is better than the previous.
And if you have an off shooting day/night? You're done and your season is over, just like that.
And that 5 year streak by Fran would tie the program's recordI wish the NCAA had issued the invites in 2020 to throw a small reward to the teams who had earned that honor. That would make it 5 years streak for Hawks and 8 of 10 for Fran at Iowa.
We may suck, but Wisconsin swallows.New tag line for the athletic department:
Iowa Basketball, we’re not so bad after all.
We may suck,but Wisconsin swallows.
people seem to have forgotten that we went 7 straight years without an NCAA Tournament appearance
2007: Alford
2008-2010: Lick
2011-2013: Fran
I'd think you have to show some respect to Fran for that. I really hope we get a couple of good portal players so he can have the official record by going again next year.
Has any team had back to back POY and also consensus AA lottery pick and 2 other NBA draft picks in a 5 year timeframe?

I definitely agree. I hope Riley makes a jump for next season like many big men their first 2 years and Fran can get some serious credit about developing players. he's been underwhelming but has flashes once in awhile. Plus he's a likable kid.Not sure but Fran's ability to develop talent is often ignored

Not too bad considering how so many people question the benefits of playing at Carver. Just imagine what we could do with a rabid, committed student body.
Gonzaga plays in a cupcake conference. The drop between 3 and 4 is statistically really odd.
Just lipstick on a turd.March 1, 2024 Confirmation:

March 12, 2023 Update:
Iowa now is #7 in the Nation in longest active March Madness steaks as a result of North Carolina, Villanova, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Ohio State and Texas Tech not making the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Wisconsin and LSU also did not make the Big Dance.
Just lipstick on a turd.
