Iowa is scheduled to face UA-Little Rock on Friday & Sunday and Missouri State on Saturday. The schedule looks very iffy as sleet/rain are in the Friday forecast and rain is in the Saturday forecast. Hopefully they figure out a way to get some games in.

Missouri State will provide a great test. If they get the game in, Iowa will likely face Jon Harris Saturday and they'll have to pitch to Tate Matheny as well.

Probably a good thing to ensure we get the games in. Looks like temperatures in the 60's with a 20% chance of rain every day.

Yet another new jersey for the Hawks (the black flying-Herky jersey is still my favorite)

Apologies for not being able to make these appear in the post, my meager HTML skills are not up to the task. :(

Iowa defeats Arkansas-Little Rock 3-1 today in Dallas.

Iowa had ten hits and three runs, a lot of scattered singles.

Kris Goodman led the way offensively as he was 3-4 with a solo HR, single, and double. He had a total of two runs scored.
Tyler Peyton was 1-1 with an RBI, as he played 1B after he pitched today.
Dan Potempa was 1-3 with an RBI
Eric Toole was 1-4 with a run scored
Nick Roscetti was 2-4 today

Tyler Peyton threw five innings and allowed three hits and one run. He had 5 K's and did walk four.

Luke Vandermater (1 inning), Ryan Erickson (2 1/3 inning) and Tyler Radtke (2/3 inning) finished off the game for Iowa. Vandermaten allowed one hit and Erickson hit one batter, only guys to reach base for UALR when those three pitched. Radtke was brought in with one out in the 9th and forced a double play with a man on 1st to end the game.

Iowa faces Missouri State on Saturday and UA-Little Rock again on Sunday.

Hawks with a come from behind victory today 6-5 with a walk-off win! Pitching wasn't the best today, but the bats came alive. Guzzo had another 2 for 4 day. Tomorrow's game is canceled, Mathews threw a couple innings today. Anyone know if Hedrick is injured? Thought we would have seen him by now.

Iowa had 12 hits today, including a triple by Eric Toole and a double by Kris Goodman. Always nice to see extra base hits. Eric Toole was 2-4 with 2 runs, Tyler Peyton was 3-4 with 1 RBI, and a ton of guys had one hit.

Pitching was not the best, but it was just good enough. Nice to start the year 4-1.

Iowa heads to North Carolina next weekend weekend for some interesting games as they face Cincinnati, Richmond, and North Carolina State.

I think I saw it in media day photos but he was in street clothes at practice. Logic says he must yet be hurt.

While we are talking pitchers, what is the status on Martsching and Kaufman as far as pitching goes? I see Kaufman has been playing first base some.

Has anyone listened to the radio broadcast of the baseball games? Who ever is doing it is very good you should all give it a listen
