Iowa goes 3-1 in our last four games that count for RPI and we go from 32nd to 81st. Indiana is a chance to boost the RPI and still have a shot. Obviously you don’t want to go 0-3. We will have some very tough pitching matchups and our pitching doesn’t exactly Leave me confident currently.

Iowa fought back to tie it in the 9th. I didn't have a great feeling though when they couldn't do more damage and get the lead. We just don't have a reliever that can come in and give us a 1-2-3 inning when needed. Just going to be one of those years I am afraid, probably our worst team under Heller since his first year.

Anytime Iowa brings in relief pitching I cringe. This team would be top of the conference if they had a stopper out of the pen.

Maybe...be in a better spot for sure. The draft really decimated Iowa. Iowa lacks power this year too. We've had guys like Cropley, Adams in the last few years. Also had Booker, Peyton, Roscetti who were good for extra base hits.

A few things, please tell me if I am overreacting.
-Offense is awful, look at Iowa’s averages. Not good.
-Pitching gives up way too many free bases. Very pedestrian starting pitching and not so good relief.
-Iowa could very well start 0-6 in conference play, I’d say Omaha is doubtful this year.
-Definitely looking like Heller’s worst team at Iowa so far. A shame too because this is how the casual fan loses interest. Hope they turn it around.

They'll be better as the year goes on. How the overall season ends up remains to be seen, but they won't continue to suck as bad as they have this weekend. Don"t forget...they did take 2 of 3 at Okie State, which is the best team they've played so far.

Not a deep team to start and injuries have really hurt. Probst (injury) and Baumann (Dreyer injury) should have been two big arms out of pen. Padgett was best hitter until he got hurt. McCaffery will start and help lineup as soon as he is back. Agree that Omaha doesn’t look likely this year, but we aren’t playing with a full army right now.

Baumann has so much potential, he just lacks control. Walks way too many guys.
