Iowa does have some guys wrestling in Ames today

Vince Turk beat in his first match by Iowa State wrestler Anthony Wesley.

Kemerer dominated James Pleski and faces Stroker in the next round.

Ugly start by Turk. He had been dinged up so hopefully a case of 1st match/being rusty.

Bottom quarter of 149 bracket includes Kemerer, Stroker, Geo Martinez (R12 Boise St), and McCauley.

Many of the young guys getting clobbered early on. Kadel wrestling down to 141 and Bowman wrestling down at 174.

EXTREMELY suprised to see Turk there!!! He's about 75% healthy at best!! Take that Stroker!! Nice job Kemerer....

I think St. John weighed in yesterday but they went with Rhoads instead. I don't know if that means anything or not but just some food for thought...

Thanks for the post Spoons! I was worried for a second. And yes I love seeing Kemerer with the W!

Jeez...Kemerer majors Geo Martinez from BSU.Think you are right Don. 14-3
His game translates great to D1. He gets to legs on anyone he wrestles and he can ride people. Not sure what he is like getting out from bottom against kids that can put on a great ride, but I expect him to be high on the podium next year.

Kemerer majors the #9 ranked 149! 16-3 hope trackwrestling is correct on this one.

We pretty much knew this in advance, but it never hurts to see some validation. Boys, we got ourselves a good one here. . . among other good ones. . . . And a Young Gun, to boot. Let that Young Guns pipeline start a-flowin'.

Not to take anything away from a butt kicking but wasn't Martinez at 141 last year?

In addition to Turk vs Gross, Kadel and Glynn are also facing off in consis at 141, coming up any minute.

Don't forget Paddock weighed in 9 pounds under today. Down side being if he was trying to make 165 today and missed weight, lol.

Did he weigh low on purpose so he could still be eligible for 165 in the near future or did he miss weight and had to wrestle 174?
