Iowa going to draw Bama in Tampa now

Chances are recruiting/getting better players would be much much easier for Iowa if they were in the SEC. Then along with Kirk implementing the Hawkeye culture (state of IOWA) I'd say upper one third yearly.

Kirk is 6-7 in bowl games against current SEC teams.
Not sure where you guys are getting your numbers.

Iowa is 5-6 vs SEC in bowl games under Kirk.

They are 1-2 vs Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas. But none of them were in the SEC at the time.

That makes Iowa 6-8 vs current SEC teams in bowl games under Kirk

Or a surging Florida team.

Either way, it's gonna be more puckering time against the SEC come January.
I could see us playing a very salty Ol'Miss team. If Dart is on, his WRs (Watkins & Harris) would absolutely torch our DBs. It might be Tennessee part deux. Our offense would struggle against their defense too.

I could see us getting paired up with Mizzou, but I am guessing the Illini will take that match-up. So maybe Vandy in the Music City Bowl?

What do you think our record would be in the SEC?
Just curious. Who would we beat?
The hawks could beat the bottom half of the teams most of the time but no doubt they would have a lot of 5-7, 6-6 and some 7-5 records. If they had to play bama, Uga, LSU, and Texas each season they would probably lose all 4 of them most seasons.

But Iowa can beat Mizzou, Ark, Vandy, and some others a lot of the time as well as some of the other bottom halfers. This OU team is not very good

A lot of ass whippings in those games and Iowa is seldom doing the kicking.

Outside of our buddy Brandon the racist and Miss State as the only sure win, Iowa would struggle to beat the rest of the SEC with the non existent passing game Iowa has with today’s team. Put the ‘09 Iowa team up against the SEC, and yes, Iowa has a chance against most teams. But no way this Iowa team can compete with marginal back four and a do nothing passing game.

Iowa may actually win a game vs a watered-down SEC team. A lot of their NFL-ready talent will pack it in and start prepping for combines, on-campus workouts and interviews. I would think that most of Iowa’s players (minus Kaleb Johnson) would play as they are not NFL bound.

My buddy that lives in Tampa says the beaches are a mess and a lot of the restaurants and attractions aren’t even open from the hurricane. He says it won’t be back until next summer. Not sure I want to even pay to go.

We stay in Indian Shores early in the year, about a hour from Tampa. Cleanup has progressed well and many resturants are open, beaches look great. Hopeful the Hawks play in Tampa.

Even with my faves record, I want to see us match up in FL (if both are 7-5)
How many years since IA has beaten any “top 10” team ?
