IMHO, of course.

Losing is one thing. Showing no signs of life whatsoever is a whole different animal, and a team that no longer cares has no business anywhere near the NIT, let alone the NCAA.

Right now, today, based on the eye test, Nebraska and Iowa are clearly the two worst teams in the Big Ten. It seems fitting they will break that tie against one another in Lincoln on Sunday.

Rutgers, Penn State, and Illinois got off to terrible starts, as usual, but I've watched those teams play off and on all season, and never once did those teams look like they had checked out, that they had quit. And look at them now.

Iowa, on the other hand, keeps getting blown out by everyone and anyone without showing a shred of effort, energy, or pride. The exceptions are former walk-on Nicholas Baer, who has never given anything but his absolute best effort since he first donned a Hawkeye jersey, and Muscatine's Joe Weiskamp. Meanwhile, his teammates, fellas the coaching staff gave scholarships to, haven't even been going through the motions. They would be an embarrassment to a Saturday morning league at the Y.

I've never been a big fan of Fran's, and I thought it would have been good to have fired him after last season. But until a few weeks ago I figured he might get this thing back on track after all. Well, this dive into the abyss--the Dolphin thing, Fran's suspension, the team's utter failure down the stretch--provide more than enough evidence that Iowa basketball needs a whole new vision.

I don't care what it costs. Money has never been much of a problem in Iowa City. But Barta, Fran, and that entire staff needs to be fired. After nine years, there are no more excuses. This nightmare needs to end. But it probably won't, so now Iowa fans are back to the stage of Lickliter apathy. I know I'm done with this program.

Let's go DRAKE!

What, no love for the Iowa women?.....

I remember quite a few commenters on here pointing out the Indiana had quit on Archie Miller, but I guess they were wrong because Indiana has won 3 in a row while Iowa has lost 3 in a row. Aristotle, I have to agree, Iowa has quit on Coach McCaffery.

Have you seen ISU lately? Did you watch the Iowa/Illinois game? If you don’t think Iowa deserves to be in then they better cut the tournament down to 16 teams or so.

ISU looks like garbage too, not sure if that is suppose to make us feel any better about playing more than 3 more games this year ;)
Are we going to have more than 1 win vs a team that is ranked at the end of the season?

They’re an average team that got to avoid playing Michigan, Purdue and Maryland twice and won 1 of those single matchups. Then they took care of business in non-conference and were taking care of business in conference vs lower teams until now. That equals a NCAA bid whether fair weather fans like it or not. Just sit back and watch whether it’s enjoyable or not. Hopefully some aren’t letting it impact their personal life, if so, I feel sorry for those around you.

Have you watched the last 3 games? They aren't just losing, they are pathetic. If they add to that a loss against a lousy Nebraska team and a lower seed in the BTT, how could you be excited about the post season?
I've watched, it sucks, however I don't understand this line of thinking? So you won't watch us in the postseason if we lose our next two games and finished 21-11? A better record than 99% of people on here predicted? FSU lost 3 of 4 last year before making an elite 8 run. KSU lost 3 of 5 last year before making an elite 8 run.

If Iowa loses its next two games, I hope they are not invited to post season.

You're a complete idiot for saying this. If you don't want to watch, don't watch. We're all frustrated with the way the team is playing but that doesn't mean you should wish for them to not make the NCAA Tournament. Absolute idiotic thought process you have.

The referees(not all I'm sure) in the conference are bad and biased. Last nights game proved that. You just can't say it out loud. We sure want them in the NCAA tournament cause recruits look at that. Fran can tell recruits I shouldn't have said what I said but he can argue that he sees what he sees.

Thank you for posting that. People are looking at Iowa’s results in a vacuum instead of looking at the big picture.

Hard to argue. I saw a lack of hustle on defense and loose balls against Wisconsin. Cook looked especially disinterested but the whole team for the most part appeared not to be engaged.

If they can win another game either Nebraska or BTT, I'd say they'll still get in. If they play like they did against Wisconsin, they won't win against Nebraska or in the BTT. I honestly expect them not to win another game this year and be left out of the NCAAs. Very disappointing.

I saw some bad calls last night but not biased calls. I don't know how you put a 30 point drubbing on the officials. Iowa could have gotten every call all night and would have still lost by 20.

The MVC is a joke. There are 5 or six teams in the BIG that would be undefeated in the MVC. lol.

I'm usually the one telling people to not get too high or too low, but if we add two more pathetic performances to the last 3, against lower-rated teams we should beat, it is going to convince me that this team has given up on themselves.

On the other hand, if we can win 2 or 3 games and show some life, then I will be as excited as anyone about the Hawks being in the dance. Let's see what happens Sunday and then in the BTT, before we start calling each other idiots.
