0/9 on 3rd down or something like that. Probably CJ's worst game of the year passing. Yet Iowa still finds a way to not just win, but be in control the whole time. Iowa is special. Nebby is mediocre.

Sets up for a great turnaround game next week when the wind isn't blowing 20 miles an hour.
Hardly ideal conditions for passing game. I thought they had big conversion in 1st half, taken away by penalty. The conversion on 2nd and 25 or whatever for TD was certainly a big play.
Mediocre? They are better than you give them credit for. You obviously aren't taking into account the fact Nebraska was playing for a bowl game, its a trophy game, they wanted to give Iowa their first loss etc.....lot of emotion, their stadium was loud at times. I believe Iowa will play better without the pressure of an undefeated regular season, as has been mentioned now we are playing with "house money".
Agreed. Luckily we were playing Nebraska and not a better opponent..... like Purdue or Northwestern.
I give Nebraska's D some credit on this one. Plus, CJ looked really gimpy late in the first half, was in serious pain walking off the field. Hawks benefitted from two huge runs from Canzeri and KF played conservative with a two score lead -- and I think he did it to protect CJ and also to erase unpredictability with the wind. We didn't need a blowout, just a win with no one getting more injured than they already were. CFP rankings mean squat right now. Winning the B10 Championship is the only thing that matters for making the CFP; style points mean nothing right now.
Guys you misread... I'm saying Iowa hardly did itself favors on offense in this game, and Nebraska still couldn't take advantage. If I told you Iowa will not convert a 3rd down all day would you have believed Iowa won? Nebby has had some bad luck, but they're also not well coached and incapable of capitalizing on Iowa's one dimensional approach today. I'm not taking ANYTHING away from Iowa. Undefeated and undisputed. This team is legit.
The luck ran both ways. Nebraska was lucky there weren't 6 or 7 picks instead of just 4.
I refuse to give Nebby any credit ever. With the way their fans have been running their mouths categorically guaranteeing a victory all I see in Nebby is a poorly coached team with talent that doesn't know how to play together.
Don't expect Iowa to play this poorly on offense next week. This was probably the worst offensive outing of the year, and wind was clearly a factor. Iowa went super conservative trying to hold on late.

When you get a pick 6 and score on the first and second play of your drive, those type of stats don't really matter.

That's one of the reasons Armstrong thru all the picks. CJ isn't dumb enough to throw it. Thing is, next week we're just gonna have to put it all on the line. Just throw it and hope the receivers catch it. Nobody could catch the ball and when he threw it was behind them. Just let msu think we cannot throw it.. they will be in for a rude awakening.

Again people are misreading what I am saying. Read my clarification. It's a testament to this Iowa team that they can put up below average offensive numbers and still win on the road. Nebby has some terrible coaching and couldn't capitalize. Iowa played with a lot of gut and held on defensively. Iowa was in control the whole way.
I tried editing the original post. Hopefully that clarifies my position. I think people took this as an anti-Kirk or a we stink thread, but it was more that it takes a special team to play below average and still find a way to win.
