Iowa horrible on offense today....

Penn State is no pushover. I'm still not convinced Iowa is playing MSU in Indy. I do know it will be fun to sit back, crack a few and enjoy some football on Saturday.

Nah. Those Canzeri runs were brutally effective. How potent a stable is Canzeri, Daniels and Wadley? CJB didn't even need to risk wild passes- or all that many passes at all- to keep the game in control. Another very smart victory earned while not suffering any devastating injuries.

I don't think MSU will have any trouble with PSU, especially considering that they get them at home.

I think Michigan beats tOSU, too. UM is on a roll and I don't think tOSU will react well to having their hopes of a CFP appearance mostly dashed, based on the stupidity that was coming from their supposed leaders after the MSU loss.

0/9 on 3rd down or something like that. Probably CJ's worst game of the year passing. Yet Iowa still finds a way to not just win, but be in control the whole time. Iowa is special. Nebby is mediocre.
Weather!!! To score 28 was impressive today. I fully expect CJ to have his best game of season in the nice indoor climate of Indy. iowa sat on the lead entire 4th quarter. If it was closer you'd have seen better numbers.

I don't know if there is anything to this or not, but I have sort of had the feeling for the last two or three weeks, that KF is really hoping to run the table and he knows it is not going to be easy. So, the plan seems to be get ahead, then go plain vanilla so as to not show our future opponents anything. It felt like there were plays that could have been called in the second half that would have moved the chains, but as long as we were ahead we were going to save those plays until next week.

With our secondary getting some guys back and with how good our front 7 is points are going to be tough to come by for the Hawks.
7 wins was going to be tough to come by for Iowa before the season began, so they said.........

I think we'll be okay.

You guys should worry about how you're gonna help Desmond King break Iowa's interception record. Thank you, JD. Should be a fun week seeing what kind of troll sh** you can bring.

it sure as heck looked that way vs Maryland in the 2nd half, up 21. two passes?

I had many of the same thoughts as those on this board (Our Offense was bad, 3rd downs, are we losing it? etc.) Then I listened to KF in the postgame interview with dolph. He was asked about the minimal passing, and said "with the wind there just wasn't any good reason to risk it." This reminded me of 6-4 vs. PSU (taking the safety with full confidence the opposing offense wouldn't be able to overcome). CJ said "...we knew they'd turn the ball over." There is no question, the offense was shut down early yesterday due to weather and confidence in our ability to win.

So yea, this team is special, and won it how we wanted to win it given the conditions. I'm sure we'd have liked to score more, but also weren't willing to risk it with full confidence in our Defense vs Tommy Armstrong and Co.

The offense will be ready to do what is necessary next week, doesn't mean we'll win, but it won't be what we saw yesterday.

Iowa's secondary hasn't seen a guy like Burbridge or a QB remotely close to Cook. Now that our OL is finally healthy...and your lack of pass rush without Ott...better hope your run game gets going or its a very, very long night for Iowa fans.

Me too.

This is going to be CJs game, throwing and running.

The talk will be all Cook going in and all Beathard afterwards.

I just have a feeling he's going to show people something special.

Ferentz has always coached this way. It's come back to bite him a few times.

Cook scares me to death. I agree with you in that I don't think the Hawks have seen a better QB all year. We get no pass rush at all so he might slice the defense up. That said, I think Beathard could surprise Sparty. If his legs are healthy he can be very dangerous with his ability to move around in the pocket and he has a very strong arm. Combined with Iowa's quality at RB and ability to run the ball, and I think the Hawks should be able to move the ball on Sparty.

I wouldn't be surprised if the game isn't a shootout.

The coaches have done a really remarkable job of adjusting their offensive game plan for the opponent. The offense didn't look stellar in person and the stats were ugly but we still did the things we needed to do to win.

Cj, our OLine, running backs, DBs, LBs, kicker and punter have all helped us win games this year. Our D may have given up a lot of yards but, in the perfect example of "bend don't break," they didn't give up a lot of points. It seems to be cyclical so I'm hoping our offense plays lights out next week.

Iowa's secondary hasn't seen a guy like Burbridge (yes, actually we have....not trolling either.) or a QB remotely close to Cook (yes, actually we have....not trolling either. Not to mention, Cook is a pocket passer and won't be prone to tuck and run much with that shoulder, even if he says it's good.). Now that our OL is finally healthy...and your lack of pass rush without Ott...better hope your run game gets going or its a very, very long night for Iowa fans. (Did you just build in an excuse for Iowa fans to use?.....Thanks, I guess.)

Like I said, JD......gonna be a LOT of fun. ;)
