IOWA is on Minnesota Fans' minds during Nonconference Games

It's a troll. They do it to get a rise out of us because well talk about it.

My co-worker was there, too, on Saturday. MN invited his son for a visit. My co-worker thought the chant was amusing.

I just posted in the other thread, this stinks of desperation to be relevant. I love that Iowa fans don't have a chant back to them. That would show them we actually care.

Truth be told, this is the trophy game I am least excited about. Feels a lot like Iowa St. Win and your supposed to, lose and it's embarassing.

I've see Minnesota play, They're horrible. Will not beat many Big teams,,,, as usual

So you are saying that Minnesota Gophers football is not entertaining. Hence, a Hawkeye fan going to Kinnick North cannot deduct the travel expense, lodging, food and refreshments expenditures nor the purchasing of game tickets as an entertainment expense nor as charitable donation to a nonprofit(able) organization.

Well at least, it's only one game. Imagine being a season ticket holder to uMinny games. Rowing with your paddle up $chitt's creek, Goopher style.

Not really.

No really, that's exactly how trolling works. You don't do it unless you care enough to do it. They consciously make the effort to "troll" Iowa and Wisconsin at most games. If they didn't care, they wouldn't do anything. Trolls by nature are at least slightly obsessed with their targets otherwise it makes zero sense.

They would do it anyway. Makes them look a bit silly, especially since they are really quite proud of it based on social media. Little brother part 2.

I am pretty certain that without Iowa filling up the Metrodome during those terrible years, Minnesota would have had a hard time meeting their 15,000 rolling average attendance requirements. They would have had to drop down to Div. II due to NCAA rules. They should fall to their knees and sing our praises, for are we not a fair, generous and benevolent ruler? Instead, they have grown bold and insolent. They forget themselves. They must be taught a lesson. Something akin to salting of the earth.

The other thing about MN, is that if you pulled out the IA, UNI and WI grads who are really running the show, you'd be left with the Mississippi of the upper midwest. Do they really think this guy is making it happen >

They drew 38k against Fresno State, and maybe half that was still there at the end.

Year Negative One.

How far does the tradition of that chant date back?

Of course their current students hate iowa and Wisconsin. What’s Minnesota’s record against those two teams in their lifetime? Like 8-32? Just guessing. Maybe it’s a whopping 12-28

About 20 years (might be as little as 18). I remember being invited to a Gopher pep rally in 2001 and turning down the invitation and telling the people who invited me I didn't want to go to a rally where that was going to happen.Yes, they do it at pep rallies, too. I'm convinced it's the result of an inferiority complex.

Do you know how much fun it is going into your biggest rival's house and pushing their face in the mud?? goofers don't! Consider this: the goofers have not won at IA or Wisconsin in the current century [1999]. This means the average college junior, was not even born the last time this phenomena occurred. Taking the pathetic a bit further, these total eclipses of the sun happened only twice in the 90's. Duh goofs, have defeated IA and WI on the road a combined 2 times in approximately 30 years. Sick!!

I love college football rivalries. I hate how it seems vogue for fans to deny these rivalries.

I love that Minnesota fans chant about us. They hate us. Good. That’s sports. That’s fun.

It’ll make it even sweeter when we kick their asses in Minneapolis in a few weeks.

The Gophers AD must not have a spine. The whole Row the Boat thing, they have oars on their helmets! How do you turnover your programs image and traditions to a new coach that had not won one game for them? They were basically saying PJ is bigger than the program. That's weak. I wonder if they will take the oars off the helmets after they eventually fire Fleck?

Yes, I realize Hayden came in and changed Iowa's uniforms and came up with the Tigerhawk. But Hayden did not use the Tigerhawk at a previous school like Fleck did with his boat gimmick.
