Iowa listed in Lockett's Early Top 7

What are his credentials?
Made the Cadet World Team at 70KG this off-season.

Wrestled at Who's Number 1 against Meyer Shapiro this past fall (lost)

Tough way to lose. When you already have 2 cautions, you better be paying attention.

I’m curious how PSU handles initial contact with their targeted recruits. Anyone?
It's not happening at midnight that I know of(not a fan of the midnight calls) . They're very calculated and don't offer $ until late in the process. When you win you can do that . When you're not winning you can't. And this isnt a shot at Iowa or any program it's just the way it works

It showed him getting a short call from Cael the next day. He has finally loaded up on talent in the light weights, but we all know he’ll stack blue chip 3 deep at any weight and can afford to do so. Eventually you would think some of these guys will hit the portal. Seems pretty cozy already with Cornell, and impressed by Michigan and PSU. If he was trying to get Angelo to commit to Rutgers, when they are probably low on his list, he is just trying to hurt our program. Things can change in 2 years, but flo article mentioned another lightweight ranked above him from PA, which they thought we should go after hard. I’m sure PSU will try to add him to their stockpile, but I would think the opportunity we have on the bottom weights and our reputation of success with light weights would give us a fighting chance.

Even if some guys decide to eventually portal out of PSU other teams are not going to top PSU with PSU cast offs.

What the hell does Santa have to do with this thread? If I’m not mistaken, I think Dub was taking a shot at Iowa’s scheduling.
I wasn’t taking a shot. I was comparing Iowa scheduling little known programs and a top recruit shining light on a little program. Seems like a good thing from here.

Yea, except I didn't write some santamonous nonsense about PSU.

Might as well have any of the other six in there Lockett is a lock
John probably won't be around when he graduates college. And if he doesn't leave in the next 2 years I could see Lockett going elsewhere. Hard to choose a place knowing a coaching change is coming while you're there

I thought John Smith was on his out a couple years ago with OSU's pitiful Natty results recently.
Guess he found a second wind with recent portal guys like Spratley and another guy.
But I no longer think coaches like Branch and Popolizio are candidates to succeed him.
I will still be surprised if he coaches beyond another 2-3 years.
