He's not 100% set on ASU. Oklahoma State trying to get him to flip, as is Texas A&M. Brad Banks with a better arm.

Shimonek a couple years ago. When's the last time Iowa got a QB from Texas? Looks like his team runs the spread. Chances r that's the type of team he will want to play for in college.

We already have a great QB prospect committed in Nathan Stanley, and we have 3 good young QB's on the team already. Go Hawks! He's not 100% set on ASU. Oklahoma State trying to get him to flip, as is Texas A&M. Brad Banks with a better arm.

I agree that it would be awesome to have a QB that can run well and throw well, however; they are not exactly a dime a dozen. Not to mention that there have been several great college QB's that are far from runners that have led there teams to great seasons. Kurt Cousins and McCarron from Bama come to mind in recent memory. Stanzi was pretty good too and was not much of a runner. But yes, in an ideal world Cam Newton would be awesome to have as a QB.If you can't run as a qb in college you're not going to exceed very often. Best QB's in college can scramble. Best 2 years we've had recently have been with Banks and CJB. I wish we recruit dual threats more than pure pocket passers.
We don't get bama and Auburn talent so it's big when iowa's qb can run. Prime example is ISU - they're qb running kills us most years when we have more talent.I agree that it would be awesome to have a QB that can run well and throw well, however; they are not exactly a dime a dozen. I agree, but finding a good mobile QB as opposed to just finding a mobile QB is not exactly the easiest thing to do. Even if they can run and throw can they read a defense, can they check in and out of good plays, are they good leaders, etc. Those are probably more important attributes or at least as important as being able to just run and throw well.We don't get bama and Auburn talent so it's big when iowa's qb can run. If you're Kirk Ferentz or Greg Davis, that may be true. For everybody else they'll take the guy that runs and throws well.I agree, but finding a good mobile QB as opposed to just finding a mobile QB is not exactly the easiest thing to do.
