Just got an update on my phone of a CBS Sports video clip of Matt Norlander (didn’t know who he was until I googled him) but 51,000 followers on Twitter for what it’s worth being asked about a team that is long shot odds to win the NCAA tournament.

He said the only team not in his most recent power 5 with a chance to win it all is Iowa and then talked about why for a bit. Said if not a dark horse to win it all can be a Final Four type team due to, mainly, Garza and the high powered offense. I’ll see if I can get a clip.

Every team has long shot odds. It's not even a prediction, so if he's wrong it makes no difference.

Whoa Nellie, still a lot of basketball left in a very difficult conference. These close wins can turn in to close losses very quickly. The team has a fragile balance, if Fredricks goes down again we are in trouble. I think we could have won against Penn State if he played the second half and also at Nebraska if he had played. Need his outside shooting with Wieskamp to keep the middle open for Garza.

I'm only concerned with Wisconsin, they always seem to have our number.

I would like to clarify that I am a realist when it comes to Iowa basketball. This season has been fun to watch and I don’t get too high or too low. I posted the thread because it is crazy to even hear those two sentences put together with as much time left in the season as there is currently.

With that said, I imagine we still drop a few more games we should win and maybe steal a few that we shouldn’t. We’ll finish somewhere in the middle to upper portion of the crazy Big Ten and I hope wind up solidly in the tournament as a 6 seed or so. But even if none of that happens I am having lots of fun watching these boys play!

Just keep us off the SI cover- it’s a caucus year again

If Iowa can beat Maryland on the road like they did at Carver, I'll be a believer.

You're right, us fans can't get ahead of ourselves! As fans, we need to focus on Wisconsin only, and not even think for a second about any other games.
it might not have an influence on the game, but it will most likely make the season a lot more enjoyable.....
