I'm encouraged by this. It reads to me that Kirk is not resigning and plans to step up and be part of the solution.

I don’t think BF has been accused of anything that’s specific to race. Doyle, on the other hand, absolutely has.

I have no idea what Doyle or any other coach in question's intent was. However, demeaning blacks as criminals, bastards, and welfare recipients is a common practice of racists.
In short, as a representative of the University of Iowa, you have to be smarter AND BETTER than that.

So, one of the issues that some black players have is the drug testing policy. Do they think that they are targets for the testing? I thought testing was random and that everyone gets tested.
That is one of the conflicting aspects of sports.
Many staffs try to run their programs/franchises like a tight-knit Army unit. This is kind of an exaggerated example, but people who are no longer in the military will share their experiences (unless there is obvious sensitive material that they are still sworn not to discuss), as opposed to those who are still serving who may be more reluctant to share their stories, or simply cannot.
A lot of people believe that way is becoming antiquated and that there are better ways to mold lockerroom and build winning programs............(i.e. be Alabama or Clemson or Ohio State

Bottom line: We have the absolutely right guy to fix/correct the problems in KF. Wouldn’t want anyone else guiding the ship at this time. Also, great choice in Mike Daniels.
