Top 15 are all really solid teams. Think the Clones are closer to a top 25 team than 15. Took a buzzer beater to beat Drake at home. And yes, I know Drake is good. USC I think is overrated solely because of JuJu. Thumped by ND and only dropped 3. We’ll get our chances.
I agree with the USC comment and it’s odd. They have more talent. They should be better and she is a dynamic score. But those trying to make her Caitlin Clark are just “that” people trying to “make” her Caitlin Clark.
Also, as I’ve said before. Iowa State guard play on both ends of the floor are not equal to their front court. And Drake probably is a top 40sh team. They are very good.. but also very beatable
This is a good team! Not great right now but they'll be a tough out for anybody all season and will get much better. I'd love love love to see a Sweet 16 appearance this year as a best case scenario. Not out of the realm of possibilty at all depending on matchups and location.

I'm definitely more optimistic about beating ISU now than I was at the very beginning of the season. We can definitely do it.
For sure. Crooks will dominate if it’s a slack whistle game. There is no one on Iowa’s roster who can stop her if she is allowed to muscle her way around the basket.
Bluder and Jensen rolled out the full court red carpet campaign to get Crooks to Iowa City. Best you can hope for is on off night for her and the Hawks draining more 3s.
Tickets sales (wherever JuJu is playing) and TV ratings are not going to be even close to what CC was generating.
Agreed…and Crooks, who I like didn’t fit Iowa perfectly. Shell score vs us, but the y will run her up and down the court and our “new” on ball pressure will make it harder for them to get it in to her.
I also anticipate them rotating Edinger in more that game. She looks like she is in better shape than last year.

I honestly think we have a better chance to defend Crooks then most teams. AOG is playing way better and Heiden is coming on and can be a force as a rim protector. I know Crooks will get hers, but I do think we can slow her down with more size, ad not have to double her. Both AOG and Heiden are more athletic the Goodman was. I also think we can make her work on the other end.
Bigger dose of Heiden. She's taller and more athletic. I'm calling for at least 3 Heiden blocks on Crooks layup attempts...
Addie O' needs to take some charges down low and get the giant in foul trouble.
I'd prefer she just takes it to the basket and gets her in trouble that way--and that's more likely.
I think the great thing about some quality depth at 5, is Iowa doesn't have to stress foul trouble, can play tough on D and keep energized.
Having watched ISU twice now, I think Iowa should win, and hopefully flip the ranking at that point.
Heiden actually has a vertical, too.
Crooks, imo, has a blockable shot mostly because she is slower & has no vertical.

ISU women clowns are getting crushed vs South Carolina…at the moment. 27 to 3!!!
They made up some ground but ended up losing by about 30, and frankly SC played like ass the whole 3Q or they would have won by 50-60.....
For the most part, the top ten teams are legit, but early rankings still get a lot wrong, always allow for some teams to ride that "good loss" train.

Yes, I don't think Iowa should have any trouble, but it is an instate rivalry and they don't always go as planned. I'd take fouls on either end of the court on Crooks.
