Iowa reopening restaurants to full capacity, swimming pools

We're having the pool discussion in our community now. Probably the biggest issue is that every pool within 25 or so miles has already said they aren't opening and figuring out if we can restrict to just the community or school district.

Anyone with a brain understands that. If you feel sick, don't go out. If you are high risk, don't go out. If you feel uncomfortable, don't go out. It's really that simple. Life has to go on, we can't keep things shut down forever.

and if you care about everyone else's health, don't go out.

Most indoor pools can operate with a staff of 20 people. An outdoor pool needs up to 150 lifeguards if it is decent size. All of those employees require training each year. There will be a few pools that open but the vast majority will not. Finding staff will be a challenge.
150? Are there 15,000 at the pool?

I'm glad you understand that. There are some in my family that don't.

You will just have to take my word for it. It's not so much about the number of people but the size of the pool and features the pool has.
Example of a pool needing 150 lifeguards? And how many of those pools exist in Iowa?

Many Okoboji bars and restaurants have been more than half full for weeks. Pisses me off. Now cases in Dickinson are going up.
