We're having the pool discussion in our community now. Probably the biggest issue is that every pool within 25 or so miles has already said they aren't opening and figuring out if we can restrict to just the community or school district.
As long as it's clear that "open" is not synonymous for "safe".Exactly how it should be.
Anyone with a brain understands that. If you feel sick, don't go out. If you are high risk, don't go out. If you feel uncomfortable, don't go out. It's really that simple. Life has to go on, we can't keep things shut down forever. As long as it's clear that "open" is not synonymous for "safe".

You must be livid at the protestors. And yes, if you feel sick you should stay home for the safety of others. I already covered that.and if you care about everyone else's health, don't go out.
This doesn’t even make senseand if you care about everyone else's health, don't go out.
150? Are there 15,000 at the pool? Most indoor pools can operate with a staff of 20 people. An outdoor pool needs up to 150 lifeguards if it is decent size. All of those employees require training each year. There will be a few pools that open but the vast majority will not. Finding staff will be a challenge.

Example of a pool needing 150 lifeguards? And how many of those pools exist in Iowa? You will just have to take my word for it. It's not so much about the number of people but the size of the pool and features the pool has.
