Iowa service workers vs Florida service workers

I went back to Iowa this past week to see the family. The first difference I noticed was the people who worked service jobs at resturants, gas stations, and even the TSA. Holy shit it is like a different planet. I went to a McDonalds and I didnt have to wait for the lady taking my order to get off her phone. I also didnt get the "What u want". Food was correct on the first try too.

Going to the grocery store and watching the people work was just shocking too. The workers werent standing around laughing like down here.

Thank you Iowa, thank you for showing me that people can actually care about their job

I was just in florida last week, didnt experience anyone rude like that at all. Nicest tsa employees Ive met so far.

It varies depending on where you are and who happens to be working then. We have some of the best, but we also have our share of the worst. Neither one of your experiences are uncommon.

the service around here in TX in the big cities is usually suspect as well, the small towns are better
